The question has already been answered, but I have my own input aside from “Yes”. The only things which remain of that war are the derelict Titans (for how long may be another question but at the same time none of the dead [Thargoid] ships of centuries past have shown any signs of coming back together) and the spire sites which they have left behind that are still rather intact.I'm just wondering, is the Thargoid War the only bit of content in ED that's no longer available really? It's quite unusual for this game to have content that's no longer available.
If someone missed the War, that's it, they'll never experience it again. Quite a unique situation for ED I think.
But until Frontier chooses to turn all that back on (if they do instead of a different form), all you can really do is play war tourist. And only in those systems because anything else affected looks like the war never happened at all.
There also used to be “holdouts” in HIP 22460 where the madman fired his big glowing Guardian stick and got slapped back by it like no one else in history has yet. Until AXI decided to organize a shootout with the resident Thargoids and somebody from Frontier (in my mind, short-sightedly) decided to hit the off switch on the only (active) unique environment of said war - including anti-Guardian field and less friendly space flowers - left in the game, for a few seconds of recognition in GalNet. So now it’s just a glowing energy field on the planet surface that horribly kills your frames if you get close and zoom in on it.
*You will still get hyperdicted by Thargoids jumping into the system now, however. Just they’ll do the old scan and move along thing instead of becoming angry and firing a shutdown pulse as they did prior.
Probably have my own list of “Things I haven’t done” but first I need to find brain energy to actually put one together… so not yet.
