Panther Clipper MK II | Highlights

Fearing I'm attempting to teach my Granny to suck eggs, but here we go any hoo.
I find Inara essential in managing my modules.
Just had a good old sort out and the 'bird's-eye view' of the location & value of modules including the relative discount/premium was most helpful.
Im still using the 'old skool' XL sheet :ROFLMAO:

Hi :)

Just another thought, when selling off old unwanted modules do you get just the base price of those modules?...For example, say I've got an 'A' rated module that's been heavily engineered and sell it back, do you only get the standard rate / price for that particular module?...I've never actually checked....but I assume you do only get the price for those modules and any engineering is obviously irrelevant.

Jack :)
When selling modules individually you get the credits you paid for them, if you sell them as part of selling a ship then the price paid out is reduced by the same margin as the ship.

So if you bought the module with maximum possible discount and then sold it at the station with the highest price for that module you would make no credits on the deal.

Engineering of course adds no financial value to the module, which is why engineered modules cost no more than standard when transferring.

If you have two of the same module with different sell back prices then you bought them for those different prices.

Ah...right (y), that would then explain the discrepancy between the two.
Anyway, I suppose I'd better sort out sometime some of those engineered modules I've already got for the Panther Clipper 2, I'll probably buy the standard version.
I've also got some ships I no longer use, so I might sell them off and use some engineered modules that way.

Jack :)

Remember when selling the ships sell none core modules separately, replace core modules with the smallest E grade available that way you lose the fewest credits.

Juggling engineered modules between ships was significantly more common in the good old times, when you got something like three grade-5 materials from a HGE, and likewise just a few material rewards from missions, none of this current nonsense.

Nowadays materials are so plentiful that it requires only a small fraction of the work to fully engineer every new ship you buy, so most experienced commanders have stopped module juggling and just engineer everything.
Except for jump drives, I normally stop grinding at G3 nowadays.

Recently hit my 600 stored modules limit.
By cracky I had some real historical guff furtled away in the hangars!

Hi All :)

Just a random thought...
I can't presently see this mentioned in this topic (though I might've overlooked it), anyhow...the 'Prong' (as the dev's describe it in the last livestream?).
It's purely cosmetic at the moment as far as I know, or could it be a representation of a new type of weapon or something else? :sneaky:
If it's not a weapon in the true sense, will it be animated to resemble one, as in some kind of (harmless) beam or canon of some type, the animation synchronised to your real weapons (if the ship has any) perhaps. Or is it going to be some kind of sensor representation, either a current one or something new along those lines.

Maybe it just is what it is, a cosmetic feature.🤷‍♂️

I think it was only on the stellar and absent from the base ship, so just a pimp my ride body kit component - not that I'd say no of course!

Be gentle with me, this might be a very noob question - my inability to sort/order my ships in the Shipyard/Your Ships list has always bugged me, but your T-10s appear perfectly ordered.
Is there a secret I'm missing?

Yep.

The ships are ordered by the time (moment) you purchased them. So at one time I had enough of a Larder Cutter here, a Larder Conda there (some from 5, 7, 9 years ago), and decided to purchase a set of Type-10s that will stay ordered on Jameson's where I do all my service anyway. I bought 7-8 of them all at the same time, one after another in one docking, and named them in order.

If the ships stay at the station you bought them, they will stay in order of purchase.

Cheers for the info but damn, I'd never have the buyers restraint (or forward planning) to manage that approach.
Guess I'm stuck with my grab bag of a disorganised FC based list, unless of course my OCD takes over, I sell the lot, create a SS plan and rebuild the fleet from the ground up :ROFLMAO:

It'll be easier than you think. (and if the moneyz is no problem).

Dock at Jameson's and call all of your storage ships there. Sift through them, see what's where and how many Type-10s you need. Then purchase those Types, name them in order, transfer all into 1st, then the 2nd and so on, and sell the old lot.

It will take less than an hour.

It is merely a way to extend the hit box of the Panther to make it into a bigger target and so help those with aiming trouble.
