Argh, sorry the incorrect link keeps being copied from an old CG template - now fixed.
You can sign up using the CG section in the missions section of the station menu where you are docked.
Then sell goods hand over bounties at the station hosting the CG to contribute.
When the CG ends go to the CG section of the menu and click complete to obtain credit rewards, failure to do so means you will will get those rewards paid to your account two weeks later.
While you can see your progress in the transactions tab it is notoriously slow to update the station menu is much quicker.
Realistically, are there any chance to do some decent bounty hunting for this CG and if yes, then where?
Fly in open, drop into any RES or Nav Beacon (or near the station), then scan the CMDRs with a KWS. A lot of the people flying in Open should have a hefty bounty on them, though not necessarily from lthe local faction.
Or do you mean bounties to hand in for the CG? There are a few posts further up describing the locations of RESes associated with Community of the Vault.
Oh, and in the former case - prepare to die. Often.
I'm "discouraging" quite a lot of wanted naughty boys and girls in solo for this CG.
However, I'm not seeing many elite NPC's. Which is a bit of shame as they are my ticket to ranking up in the discipline

I'm doing decently well with NPC pilot ranks (Lots of Dangerous pilots, a few Elites, some Competents) by taking the advice higher in the thread and hunting at the Lekan Yu HazRES. It's moving the needle on my rank a bit (currently Dangerous) but any progress I can see at all feels like a lot since I got to Master.

I know about standard pirate hunting and bounties as well as massacre stacking and so forth. It was just abquestion if there was anywhere to hit consistent source of CG relevant pirate bounties. I don’t want to waste away hunting at nav beacon or at low res .
I had this same question, and the answer given to me is go to Lekan Yu (~11 light years from Aiaba). There is a HazRES there and all of the bounties I have found there have been issued by Community of the Vault. There will be more pirates there than you can shoot. Happy hunting, CMDR.
I'm running a ~3300 MJ shield tank/Beam Laser Python Mk II (Just stacking G5 reinforced shields, boosters, and a few guardian shield reinforcements for chuckles). When my shields drop too low from picking fights, I pull out of the rings, reboot the ship, shields are back up to 50%. Bi-weave would probably help me keep my shields up longer, but as long as I don't get too greedy I can stay out there indefinitely.

I got my bounties without a KWS, you just need to scan the target, see that they are wanted (i.e. got a bounty on them), and make them go boom. Turn in the bounty at the CG station.
So... there's a ship "wanted" ship that belongs to "Community of the Vault". Does he count as a pirate?

This isn't rocket science, don't overthink it. You need to shoot ships that are wanted by the "Community of the Vault" faction, not members of that faction.
If you want to hunt in a HazRes instead of the low ones in system, go to a neighbouring system where "Community of the Vault" is the controlling faction (so they are mostly the ones issuing the bounties), go to a Res site, shoot. The second post in this thread has a link listing matching systems with HazRes sites.
You need a KWS in anarchy systems, or systems where they aren't controlling, to increase the chance to find a ship with a bounty from that faction. A KWS reveals bounties outside the current jurisdiction - if you hunt in "Community of the Vault" territory, you don't need one.

Of course, it does not hurt and gets you more money. At least if you manage to scan them before they go boom... ;-)

Also, some powers can combine this CG with merit gain, and a KWS also increases merits (because it increases bounty gain).
Yes, but not as a contribution to the CG. I did actually wonder if I might've been doing something wrong when I realised I've probably killed Community of the Vault guys but, as Ashnak said, just blast away and you'll probably find that 80-90% of your bounties will go towards the CG.
I only use the KWS here because it's a complete waste of money not to and it takes zero effort to use.
