Panther Clipper MK II | Highlights

...
The United Kingdom uses Greenwich Mean Time (also known as Western European Time or UTC+00:00) and British Summer Time (UTC+01:00) (also known as Western European Summer Time).
The Elite Dangerous servers will be offline from 7am UTC or 07:00hrs GMT then its IMPOSSIBLE for them to still be running at 08:00hr UTC+1
....

My point was that the post you quoted clearly said 07:00 UTC - this is not the routine Thursday morning update but the quoted post referred to the twixter FD post:

@EliteDangerous
Greetings Commanders,

The Elite Dangerous servers will be offline from 7am UTC in preparation for the release of the Panther Clipper Mk II. We expect this downtime to last four hours.

Please keep an eye on our social channels for further updates.

If the FDEV twixter post was inaccurate, that is another matter.

What's with that magical number 1400? Where is it coming from?

It's not even double 794. Why is precisely 1400 A-ok but 1238 is a "disappointment"? "Oh noes, the ship is 162 tons short of the ideal! Ruined!"
What is magical about 1400 is that its roughly double the capacity of an Imperial Cutter. Instead, Panther II is an Imperial Cutter plus a Type 8.

I am loving it and do not think I will ever need a fuel scoop in it. Where can I find the range with onboard fuel in the default fuel tank?

I have 1136 units of cargo space which is great. I may see about running without a shield but wonder if I'd regret it if interdicted. I usually just instantly throttle back and when I drop out just start boosting like crazy and jump out.

If I was to switch out my size 6 shield generator for a size 6 cargo rack I'd only make about 2 million more on the average trade run, I am not worried about making an extra 2 million, the security of the shield is worth that to me.

Over an hour I'd make about 7 million more, I am quite sure the size 5 Guardian booster and size 6 shield are worth carrying.

I've got 1152 cargo with a 6A prismatic and 4H FSD booster fitted. It's a decent trade-off for me, and I'm happy not pushing it to max cargo. It's a much better ship to fly than I expected - loving it so far.

Mind sharing the build?
I'm forced to put a class 7 prismatic, because I get a message trying to fit a class 6 saying "hull mass exceed shield generator"

I'm only at 1056 Cargo with my combat CG runner, 6A shield, 4H FSD, 6A Scoop and a Fighter Bay.
All turrets except for 2x Pack hounds.
43.84LY jump with a Pre-engineered 7A and Military Armour.
Will build a separate one for Colonisation hauling with larger loads.

I am thinking of getting another Stellar to equip for laser mining. It says I own it with no option to buy another. But I do get the option to buy the standard. I think I'll wait and just build a mining Panther when it is released to all in the game. I may look at the black skin. Google says the standard comes with the extrra capacity size 7 and 8 racks, I need to make sure before I buy it though.

If you've bought the early access (Stellar or Standard) you can buy additional ships in-game for credits now, no need to wait for general release.

Your Stellar paint job and body kit will be available in game livery and you can buy the base ship for credits

The Panther Clipper has a very good cockpit. However, I am disappointed that two loosely lying cables run within the windscreen at the command data seat. In the 33th century, one can expect that designers from ships do not deliver such a botch.

Hey, they were in a rush to manufacture as many ships as possible. Why do you think there is an ongoing CG about it?

Just returned to the CG system in a Stellar with its off the shelf modules but with some pinned engineering done and 1044 tonne of cargo and an NPC Vulture tried to interdict me!

Not quite the easiest interdiction battle I have ever won but it was pretty straightforward, I was most impressed.
