Trailblazer Resupply | Community Goal Update

I sort-of miss the days when a CG would end when it got to 100% rather than FDev just god-handing extra Tiers on top to make it last as long as they want it to.

Also, why not make the new Tiers unlock permanent access to the modules, as previous CGs used to do?

Also, also, why not introduce a new Engineer who can engineer cargo racks, maybe fuel tanks and similar modules as well??

Extra capacity mod like the CG ones, smuggling mod so the contents don't show up on a scan, hack-resistant mod so the cargo won't be vented if a hatch breaker limpet is used, corrosion resistant mod for Thargoid stuff, whatever other mods would make sense...

I strongly agree that CGs need a more stable structure with fixed reward tiers based on absolute contributions, not just percentages. The current system, where extending the CG shifts the goalposts and risks nullifying the effort players invest due to relative rankings, feels unfair and demotivating. It undermines the hard work many put in, especially when the criteria for rewards change mid-event. I hope the developers are closely monitoring this feedback and will reconsider their approach to CG extensions and dynamic goal adjustments. A more transparent, predictable system with permanent reward thresholds would respect players’ time and dedication, fostering a more rewarding experience for the community in my opinion.

Aww, and I was hoping to get those sweet, sweet TARDIS cargo racks this week! 🤪

But it's exhilarating seeing Panther Clipper II traffic outnumber Cutter traffic 5-to-1; has to be the most successful new ship launch ever!(y)

It's actually just one CMDR with a lot of time on his hands!
No there are at least 4 others besides me as I have seen that many around the station as I was making my way in past the guns in continuous salute.

Greetings Commanders,

The response to our latest Community Goal has been astronomical and we are overjoyed to see so many of you getting involved! With such determination you look set to smash through the all time records for community goals!

In order the ensure that as many Commanders as possible are able to participate in this record breaking community initiative, we have added 2 additional tiers, alongside increased credit rewards for achieving these targets.

The current community goal is due to run for four weeks and will end at 10am UTC on Thursday 21st August, at which time rewards will be distributed.

Happy hauling!
Instead of adding credit rewards, you should add an additional 2 sets of the cargo racks.

Frontier, when adding new tiers like this, it would be great to add some solid rewards to it as there was some expectation of the early ending. Now people may need to do more to maintain 75%. This is especially cruel if there was a special top 10 reward, but it wasn't the case for this CG.

In this case if you added an extra pair of cargo hold rewards to "contribution above 1", you'd be compensating everyone that may lose top 75% due to the tier extensions. Of course people may still want to keep top 75% for what would become a 3rd set, but that is an entirely new situation benefiting everyone.

There is that.

Of course, any large group of people will have some people who don't like any given decision that is made, while others think it is okay.

FDev don't seem to help themselves though, the way they go about things leaves much to be desired most of the time - although they do seem to be improving slightly of late.

If they wanted to guarantee the CG wouldn't end early, they could have made the final target impossibly large in the first place, rather than adding extra Tiers in after it started. 🤷‍♂️

They could. They have this tendency to underestimate the players.

On the other hand, this kind of CG has a track record of getting extended, plus it was not only announced for four weeks, but also removed the usual "If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately" disclaimer. It was absolutely clear from the moment the CG started that it would not end early.

The last bit of the "if it ends earlier yadda yadda yadda" hasn't been in place for a while now.
As was pointed out to me (and rightly so) when I complained about them increasing a Tier in one of the last CG's
