Yes or No and why, this game is looking like X-Rebirth all over again.

Although to be fair to X-Rebirth, I don't play it, but according to many that do, since 2.0 its got a lot better. Looks o.k. on YT, but to play, not sure.

I will not add my opinion I'm just going to observe what others think.

Lets entertain the notion, (no matter how slight), that this is a non troll question.

I own both ED and X-Rebirth, I have played and modded/scripted all the X games from X2 to X-Rebirth; there is no comparison between the two in terms of game play, (apples and oranges), but especially in execution.

The vast chasm of differences between the two in design decisions and technical implementation, (even after X-Rebirth has had a year of patching), is not to be underestimated.

X-Rebirth is not a patch on ED, (and probably never will be), it's as simple as that.

its not x3 rebirth at all that was a joke of a release pandering to the console generation and totally stuffing up everything i enjoyed about the x universe especially the remoded version x2 xtended.
having said that you would have to be blind to see this is not was promised at release.

When X Rebirth was released, for the first few weeks, trading didn't work. As in, it was not possible to buy commodities at one station and sell them at another.

So with that in mind, I'll let you decide for yourself whether the as-yet-unreleased E: D is anything like X Rebirth.

Very similar in the way it works, or doesn't. And ED isn't as good looking imo. When you are forced to play someone else's 'vision' and are not allowed to play 'the way you want to play' as we were told once upon a time, it's frustrating and disappointing.

I actually own X-Rebirth.

If ED at release is at least as playable for everyone else as even beta 3 was for me, then I believe ED will be reviewed as a better game than X-Rebirth is right now.

Yes or No and why, this game is looking like SO MANY spacefaring games these days.

Anyone explicitly or implicitly claiming Elite: Dangerous to be nothing more than a rehash of any other contemporary science-fiction game is missing the following fun facts to know:

  • "Elite: Dangerous" is a spacefaring game produced by David Braben, to be released in 2014.
  • It is based on, and essentially a modern remake of, a spacefaring game by Ian Bell and David Braben named "Elite", released in 1984.
  • The 1984 "Elite" is considered one of the most iconic and influential games of its time in the science-fiction genre.
So yes, what we see are signs of some major rehashing: The rehashing of the original 1984 "Elite" by countless of spacefaring games ever since.

Perhaps if playing someone else's vision galls you so much you should gather a team of developers, scrape the moola together and produce your own dang game.

It means "I wanted an off-line version, and now I'm angry". For some reason "vision" is intended sarcastically.
