Got a gtx680 and although the stuttering was really bad a couple of patches ago, the last patches have improved it a lot. 3.9 is just occasional stutters in stations and entering hyper space mostly.

Bedtime boys!
Oh mom!

Now hey there people, won't you lend an ear?
'cause I've a story to tell and I'm telling it here
I was born in a town in the great UK
From a baby to a boy to a man today
And I'm a musical man, and I'm a man of verse
But I've got a little problem and it's getting worse

Well my life was so well planned
Survivin' and a-jivin' in a f-f-funk band
'cause rappin', it's my, bread and butter
But it's hard to rap when you're born with a st-st-st, st, st-st, st,
st-t, st-t, stutter!

Well no-one's ever seen what I mean
From the age of n-n-n-n-n-n-thirteen
We've all been caught in a m-m-mouth trap
So join with us and do the st-st-st-st-st-st-st-stutter rap

Well it was '82 when I joined the boys
And I was hip, and I was cool, but now I've lost my poise
The kids, our fans, are starting to doubt
When you open your mouth and nothing comes out

And it breaks my heart that we're not on the chart
'cause the record's nearly over when the vocals start
And I'm down and out, and I'm down on my luck
And I'm livin' on my own and I'm dying for a fr-riend to say "You're great!" But I'm under the hammer
'cause all I seem to do is s-s-s-st-

Come on man!

s-s-s-st-stammer!

Well no-one's ever seen what I mean
From the age of n-n-n-n-n-n-thirteen
We've all been caught in a m-m-mouth trap
So join with us and do the st-st-st-st-st-st-st-stutter rap

Neighbours

Well interviewers turn away
Who wants to be covered with spray?
Talkin' to me for more than an hour
Is equivalent to an April shower
It's tough! Tough! Tougher than tough!
It's worse than Benny Hill and that's bad enough!
Something must be wrong with your vocal technique
When the twelve inch mix goes on for a week

I was rappin' in my club the other night
When nothin' I said was comin' out right
The crowd got angry, and this one man
He was gonna throw a bottle
He was gonna chuck a can, chuck a can, chuck it, chuck it, chuck it,
chuck it

Well no-one's ever seen what I mean
From the age of n-n-n-n-n-n-thirteen
We've all been caught in a m-m-mouth trap
So join with us and do the st-st-st-st-st-st-st-stutter rap

N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-NO, NEED, FOR SHOUTING!

W-w-w-w-why's that then?

Well, you'll wake Mr Whittaker at number thirty-two

Besides, it's not very good for the voice

(An amplifier or similar shorts out)

Uuhhh!

That's a bit harsh isn't it?

NO, SLEEP, 'TIL BEDTIME!

Talking of which it's ten-thirty already!

Is it? Ooooh!

What time do they stay up 'til in America?

(I mean)

Oh, very late. Sometimes quarter to eleven

(Ahhhh)

Well actually I've heard in New York they sometimes even stay up 'til midnight

No! No wonder they do all that shouting

(I mean)

Yes, they must be very snappy and irritable

That's right

(Ahhhh)

Do you know, I heard a story that those Toastie Boys stayed up 'til
quarter past twelve!

Really? Well that's just silly!

They're just gonna get burnt out

Burnt out!

Well no-one's ever seen what I mean

Still minor stutter, much less than before

Nvidia GTX 760
i7-4820K CPU @ 3.70GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.7GHz<
16384MB RAM<>
DirectX 11

Still a bit of stutter in SC when approaching planets, most noticably the brown ones eg near Bamford Station (Wolf 497 sys).

780Ti, i5 3570K @ 4.3, 16Gb ram, SSDs, 3440x1440 res (single monitor).

90% improvement, didnt change any drivers, stutters about 0.5 secs, but thats loading in multiple planets/moons
.
well impressed
.
gtx770 4gb/i5-2500k 3.3/20gb ram

It's quantum mechanics guys, bound to get stutters when forcing the tiny to interact with the huge. Or something.

So obviously Elite is so demanding I have to discard my 780 TI card, oh well stuff gets old.
Funnily it did manage quite well through BF4, but Elite is special.
Or should I just get another and go SLI, or maybe drown myself in a lake because the problem is not mine, but maybe lies with FD.
Time will tell.
Fly safe fellow targets and take care.

Yes stutter. AMD 7970. Stutters badly during jumps (down to seconds per frame instead of FPS) and in supercruise approaching planets.

i7 4790K 4.4ghz
GTX 770
16gb DDR3 memory

I had bad stutters before 3.9, now after 3.9 a majority of the stutters are gone, but I still do get some stuttering during hyperspace travel and still *occasionally* around planets. It's almost at an acceptable level (for my machine and the performance I'm getting that is, I know some others are having horrible problems with even better machines than me)...but not quite yet. I think more optimization needs to be done before it becomes acceptable as a finished release-worthy product, performance-wise.

I'm on a laptop. Nvidia 670M, normally I'm playing on my main, with a GTX 780 and had no problems (aside from what I think were memory leaks when staying too long in a sector)

Before this update, I had a very low framerate on this laptop. It isn't the case at all anymore, except inside stations, then framerate goes pretty low.

3.9 fixed a lot of framerate problems for me. Can't wait to see if the leaks are over, on my main.

Now, with that said, stuttering issues tend to be CPU rather than GPU.

Laptop: i5 3210M, 8Gb, Nvidia 670M.
Main: i7 4770K, 8GB, GTX 780.

Clarification on why I believe it's memory leaks:
It just takes ages for me to happen, if I'm in an ... instancied sector. It happens much faster in places that are heavily loaded with structures, asteroids or ships, which is logical.
Should I, like, leave the game on while watching a video, talking to a friend, browsing stuff or whatever, sometimes I'll come back to a laggy game. Hyperspacing out makes it stop.

Now what I think, since sometimes it takes ages or disconnects when you get in or out of hyperspace, is that it makes a different connection to the server somehow, and that you're leaving an instance for another. As such, anything from the last instance is emptied from your memory... ending the low framerate problem as the leak is "fixed" (Or at least your memory isn't full anymore.)

That's what I think at least, since I never checked my memory usage at the same time, just hyperspaced out to make the annoying low framerate problem stop.

Just a play about on 3.9.1 and it was pretty much stutter free for me :)

Can I change my vote!!

Slight hiccup when going into a jump but that was it. Flying around a planet in SC with about 10 other ships in SC and it was smooth.

Note I turned off vertical sync but put on 60fps frame limiting in the options, no idea if that contributed or not.

recheck my first post, edited/added a little hint for stuter issues.. (nvidia tested only)

Only (and still) getting stutters when I first jump to hyperspace (not supercruise). After about 2 seconds into the jump, it hangs for 1 second. Tunnel just freezes for a second. Other than that, hardly any stutters to speak of. Flying past planets in supercruise is smooth (90% of the time). This is on the Rift or standard monitor. Doesn't matter.

Except for very-hard-to-read text on the DK2, 3.9 performs great here.
PC: i7, 3.4Ghz, 8GB, NVidia GTX-560Ti

I think you can't verify stutter / no stutter with a single play in this game.
I had some very smooth ones and some very bad ones, all with the same driver, going from system A with supersmooth movement over Hyperspace (which always stutters in the beginning) to system B with supersmooth movement and back to system A only to find that almost unplayable due to stutter which wasn't there the previous visit. Also found that there's lot's of stutter when everybody is online then when there are only a few people online.
+ If you put an FPS counter on top (either ingame or external), you'll see that on each stutter you have an FPS drop, if the screen just hangs for a sec you can bet your life on it that the FPS just hit the bottom, yes zero, for a second.

BTW, just tested the 334.89 driver (comming from 344.48 after testing 344.60 and 344.65) which didn't help at all. GTX780.

I get single gpu microstutter... the kind that's always fixed by using vsync + framelimitting @ 60 (using dxtory or whatever) in other games.

Furthermore, when I use the ingame framelimit option with vsync off, it locks me to 64 fps instead of the expected 60 fps. I started a thread to see if anyone can verify whether the bug affects them or not, but I've gotten no useful information from anyone yet, so I have not ticketed it yet: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=63768

Well at first I thought of this song:

Then I realized what the thread was about and my experience has been that with Beta 3.9 the stuttering was better with Gamma is a little worse.

GTX 770, stuttering away. It is a lot better than during Beta but it is still noticeable. It's certainly not game breaking but it is very annoying.
