Ok, it's clear that no one (or very few) is willing to pay a fee for some features in more or speed up their release process. I ask at FD to put a Donate Button (paypal) in your internet site where those, who want to, autonomously and without imposition, may contribute to the development of the game.

It does not hurt anyone, who wants to do it is free to choose...

Do not forget that Elite: Dangerous is not just a game, it is a product of scientific valence , is the best virtual representation of our galaxy, ...this will have to be updated periodically based on new knowledge and new discoveries, ..for favor FD, allow those who want to contribute to development of this fantastic project!

What can we lose? .... we can only gain! and if goes wrong, doesn't change anything ... but we certainly can not lose!!! It's just a personal choice, why deny it to those who want?

EDIT: some one report "buy in store to donate! " but i you remember :It is not just a game. There may be people totally uninterested for skin or keychain but concerned only the scientific side .... why not allow it, if they want, to make a donation?

More money != faster development. You only have to look at Star Citizen for evidence of this, they have a huge amount of money yet they're not even at what they themselves would consider an Alpha stage, 2 years on from the initial funding of their Kickstarter campaign.

As Robert Maynard points out, If people want to donate then they can always buy skins from the store even if they have no intention of actually using them in game.

I think you've already seen the difference between FD and RSI, no?! "..choose red(or orange?!)pill or blue pill"? ;)

sorry but what is your fear? What can we "lose"?

You're missing my point. Even if FDEV has more money it doesn't necessarily mean that they'll be able to do things any faster than currently. I feel you just don't have confidence that Elite: Dangerous is going to succeed by suggesting that they actually need to have a donate option.

Yep, a donation button to help fund this absolute ground breaking classic Elite Dangerous, would be a good thing to have.

+1

Shok.

Personally i wouldn't donate i think i've contributed enough already Kickstarter £150 Backer but it can't do any harm i guess.

I agree that a donation button does not have much point when you can simply purchase things from the store. Still I can see no harm from it being implemented.

You don't have a point, you have a lack of faith in the future success of the game.

Actually, that's a gross misinterpretation. I have faith that extra funding will continue to see server maintenance bettered, code - bug free, and the high possibility of new contect added with the technology needed to fund it.

It is nice to see the anti-elite minority jump in to stiffle a good idea.

Shok.

I'm not anti-Elite. I backed at the DDF level in the kickstarter campaign. You're the one making a "gross misinterpretation" of my posts.

Says it all for me. The rest is the usual gibberish to cover it.

Shok.

Again, the same reason for voting no in this poll as in the other one. Player leverage. If enough players regularly donate those players can then form a pressure group to attempt to bribe or bully FD into... well, whatever their agenda may be. So no, no donations. There are other ways to produce income which do not have this baggage attached.

I think the store is the best way to support FD, saying that....

If they had a VIP ( monthly sub ) that went towards points to spend in the store then i would be up for that as long as there was a return. That way it helps all 3 types of player.

1) who is willing to support the game through subs (VIP), but get store items through points from the subs
2) the store is for players who would like a skin or two and willing to pay cash.
3) players who are just want to play the game as it stands.

Expansions are sold in the store as and when they come out.

I'm pretty sure that the kickstarter had a donate button so what harm could it do to have one now?
But to be clear - NO subscription.

It's just a donation button, not some secret order.. Yet.. *evil cackle*

It is like a customer asking the supermarkets to have a donation button placed at the beginning of the till's, so they will work faster packing your grocery bags.

Erm, ok.

My point was that Elite: Dangerous is a commercial product and the suggestion that they need a donation option is tantamount to suggesting that they will fail.
