I know that Ireland probably didn't want to win, but it certainly deserved a much higher place than last. How the Romanian entry scored so highly is also a mystery. :S
Personally I thought the Norwegian song was the best and I was a little underwhelmed by the Danish song that won.

Because of you, I actually had to find out what we had sent to the contest this year. Well, at least it was energetic. Even disturbingly so, this early in the morning...
They've always been impossible to predict. Different countries have different voting systems (public vote vs. a small committee of so-called experts)... Finland's problem (not having heard any of the other entries, mind you) was perhaps the bit too obvious attempt to please the gay audience (iirc, Eurovision is a big deal among them). It was basically 10 years too late to have much of an impact.But it just goes to show I know nothing about Eurovision winners
