Please help out us newbs on the 16th by taking the day off. You've had your weeks of fun, but you're absence on that day could help to prevent the inevitable server overload on release day.

So, guys, do us noobs a solid and go visit your old momma or something. Maybe stay over? Etc, etc.

Yeah, i have reserved the docking bay 7 in the Aulin Enterprise for that, best seat :). Also a good tip: the ASP has the best view from the cockpit xD.

You really don't get it do you, they are pulling your leg, there will be very little greifing as most of them you will not see another player. If you are really worried start off in solo mode until you feel comfortable with the setup. You have to remember that there will be some more new content on the 16th and us existing players want to see what it is and play with it. I must also say that I have only seen one other player in the last eleven days so once you get out a bit from the starter systems you will not have to worry too much about other players. Also there is no reputation or any other benefit to killing innocent players.

Ill be playing solo anyway. I suggest you do the same at least till you feel able to fly your ship and you are familiar with everything about the game functions.

Yeah, I'm not worried at all about player interaction, good or bad. I am worried about server overload and the frustration at getting play on day one of release.

I was hoping the old timers would take one day off to help the newbs actually get some playtime, but I hope you are right about the server stability.

LOL! I doubt it. Stop and think a sec... a company that can't even get their servers to operate well typically do even worse with their own game code. That's my experience of it. These guys have it all ship shape. If what we see now is any indication, launch should be fine.

But, I will have a 5 day vacation through XMas, so there will be a whole lot of Elite-ing going on!

I'd like to reverse this position and ask all noobs to not even download the game until at least the 17th, that way us experienced cmdrs can both download faster and not have to worry about new players clogging up the letterbox. we can also test out the new content and write up instructions for the noobs so they know how to use it.
