I don't know what of fanboy you have to be to accept 12 horribly aliased debug lines, not to mention the sidebars AND the burst of blue rings once you approach something. It's not normal, they just left those things in there and have not yet decided to remove them.

Those lines are the same aircraft horizon markers used in modern day jet fighters, makes sense when they add landing.

Dude those are the ORBITS and it's part of the ships UI, not debugging. They're actually very useful and flying without them would be much more confusing.

I'm loling. Endzeil, people can't tell what you are even trying to point out. You have bad communication skills.

And trying to shove your own failure to communicate onto other people as if it's their fault is silly. It's your fault.
 

While I agree that the jagged lines are an eyesore, I do find what they represent to be useful. I'd suggest a toggle over an outright removal.

I find myself preferring the concentric ring setup as you get close to your destination. Perhaps make it an option to have the current setup, have nothing on screen or have a hybrid that has just shorter veritcal speed indicators out in the HUD? Sort of like driving down a road with telephone poles on each side. They could be small, just several centimeters in height on the left and right, to give your HUD a "path" to travel down.

That's exactly what they are. It's how the HUD displays the solar system. They aren't going too remove them, and it doesn't stop you from playing.

nobody is asking to remove them... but to create an option to disable them: On/Off button.

Hey, whatever floats your boat, but I still don't see what the problem is. They're are such artifacts and information lines on fighter jet HUDs, you don't hear pilots complaining, they're useful tools, if your know how to use them.
 
I couldnt fly without them.. It helps me find a planet when im turning instead of just looking at the reticle and little globe.. it allows me to line up along the orbit and turn/bank aligned with it until it apears in view.. It lets me find stations easier by seeing its orbit around the planet instead of again, a simple dot or reticle.. its also very usefull when your coming into a station to line up with the door.. its easy for me to see which way the station should be facing (planet inwards) and gives me a good idea where it is in relitive to that planet so i can swing in between the two, and come out of supercruise with the front door facing my ship..

the speed indicator.. isnt as usefull, but it at least makes me feel like im traveling at some sort of speed.. instead of watching a number countdown for a minute and 1/2 in the middle of my screen.. Id rather look at a "spreadsheet" then a stopwatch... :)

option to turn them off should be made available for those who dont find them usefull.. but unplayable.. Seriousaly? DONT PLAY THEN! :)

Roughly.....
They mark the ecliptic. They show the orbit of planets and planetoids. They also serve as a reference for their positions. Without them, you would have no frame of reference, for the position of planets, planetoids or stars, in relation to each other, or your own ship. You would know only your own position, in relation to the star you saw, when you first entered the system, and that is it.

The first star you see as you enter a system has an orbital path marked by the line. Once you know the ecliptic, you can always count on finding the position of the hidden planets in the system, in relation to that line, or path. You know that finding the other planets is a matter of choosing the correct direction – North, South, East, West, and looking for visual clues as to the positions of the others. Without the ecliptic, your ability to find those heavenly bodies would be made far more difficult. Exploration would be extremely frustrating without them. It would be like switching off the lights in a room, and trying to find something in the room, based on the known positions of other objects in that room, as a reference, and doing it all from memory. This becomes worse, if your in a room you’ve never been in before, and so have no frame of reference for anything within that room, which would be the equivalent of unexplored systems in game. Without them you would spend hours flying around in different directions and axis, inside a system, searching in vein for planets you know are there, somewhere, but have no frame of reference for.
