Wait a few days before griefing...

I've been pretty much killing newbies since release, well, not really killing. I leave their hull at 1% with everything damaged and just leave them drifting there, takes them a while to find the self destruct button. It's fun :)

Do you hang around and wait for the boom?

I'd rather rage quit than be riddled by the current game stopping bug - the evil black screen of death. I still haven't even played yet, and I'm almost at a point where I may want my money back and just play X series games.

:(

Sounds pretty lame.
I bounty hunt because I want a challenge, not to press the win button and pat myself on the back.

Excellent! Well thought out and articulated post on the current topic. Well done, Sir!

I was interdicted by someone (pc) while i was carrying 4t Algae. I didn't mind. I just thought he was really hungry.

MMMMMMM Algae!

Healthy and delicious... :)

If anyone is having problems getting ganked please feel free to msg me and I will gladly come assist. I have a few ships stashed around the galaxy and would love a good reason to dust them off every once and a while.

if one somehow could organize convoys with some fighter-hungry escorts ... could be fun. Especially if the escorts could hide until the "oh! easy victims!" pirates show up.

@Atronx Thanks, I will remember :)

It should be a complaint, and I hope you reported the guy. Sadly the anti-griefing mechanics from the DDF are not in place yet, and selfish problem cases can do a lot of harm to the reputation of the game.

... to not scare newcomers.

I just have been griefed by a player showing off his fancy Cobra on my empty one-trip-then-sell Adder. And then again by the same guy, cause he decided to do it over and over again on me. Ok, I am in Elite for a while ago, I can afford new ship, for me it's part of the game.
But newcomers will just ragequit (or at least get a bad taste) cause they get griefed almost instantly.

Yes, they can go solo. But then they'll probably stay in solo.
Yes, they can block. But most will be just unpleased with open play overally cause of this.
So what's the point of griefing? Wait a few days.

Note: It's not a complaint, just a suggestion for other players.

This is what is fun for you? You realise all you do is hurt the long term future of the game, and diminish the chances that Frntier can keep working on it, adding features.

Shame on you, and all who get their jollies like this. So much for "looking for a PvP challenge" pure, petty sadism.

Ditto. If the early Alpha's were anything to go by, vigilantism will win out ;)

I've actually been pretty disappointed in the lack of people trying to kill me.

I've been in fairly densely populated core systems for the last two days, and not one CMDR has been anything except helpful or avoidant, even when I was WANTED.

People should be able to play however they please...and reap what they sow.

We don't need any anti-griefing mechanisms other than ships with guns and people to pilot them.

I used to play a game with a Hard core anti Grief and cheater mechanism of an interesting kind where they would send a Bad boy player to a Game Prison zone depending on the offence How long they would stay there - the offenders could see each other but not be able to talk xd

'Griefers' tend to hang around in starter systems waiting to kill defenseless bambis for no reason, take your adder and plot a course to some far away system (100ly should do it).

Long time solo player here, but i've played in open since release and not had a single interaction with any of these people.

Don't be so melodramatic, people have the right to play the game however they want. It's frustrating when things don't go your way, but you have the opportunity to note down their name - climb up the combat ladder and return the favour in the future.

We each have our own way of having fun, I guess.

Yea, but yours involves spoiling the fun of others to the detriment of the game in general as these noobies either go solo or quit and spread the bad word. Try and show a little class.

Add griefers to your block list and it also serves as a shopping list of who to get back once you have maxxed out a decent fighter!!

:D :D :D

Never understood this mentality. What's to say they won't have a maxxed out fighter with the added experience of, you know, playing?

Also this displays the very same mentality a solo player mocks "greifers" for. As soon as you have a good ship you're going to start hunting people? This perceived advantage makes you bold all of the sudden? lol
