[RELEASE] Slopey's BPC Market Tool! - New version!

I too am having the program crash every time I try and enter data into the database. Amazing stuff! now if I could just contribute in my trading corner of the galaxy!

any ideas why it crashes after I click submit? I just updated the the .net version you recommended.

Hi Slopey! I think I may have found an issue with how the profits are updated.
Please check the files here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vpd121ue78tvh25/anlavesolroute.zip?dl=0

In short, I was doing a route between Sol (Superconductors) and Anlave (Progenitor Cells), updating the stations (Galileo, Bain, Columbus) as I go.

When Searching the route to see the updated profits, it lists ~200k if I select Anlave-Sol with the Last Update From/To being correct. But if I search the reverse way, Sol-Anlave, only now will it show the correct profit for my updates ~130k.

I'm connected to 54.154.39.170 if that's of any help.

I'm having problems when trying to import a CSV file......I don't get an error or anything.....I get the file selection dialog box, select the file, the dialog closes, and then nothing.

I desperately want to contribute, and I've got EliteOCR working brilliantly and have CSVs from that, but I can't seem to plug them in.

Are the EliteOCR exports even compatible? The headers are included, so it shouldn't be hard for BPC to parse the data and accept the data, but I don't seem to be able to even get it to look at the file to give me an error.

I can manually enter data, but it seems crazy to do this when we have the ocr program available to us which works.

BTW I'm using the latest version of BPC.
Hi darkcyde,
1) make sure that the logfile configuration of EliteOCR and Slopey's BPC point to the logfile directory of your Elite installation.
2)Enable verbose logging for Elite by adding
<Network DatestampLog="1" LogFile="netLog" upnpenabled="1" Port="0" VerboseLogging="1">
to your appconfig.xml in your Elite installation folder.
Now Elite OCR and SLopey should display the correct System name where you are docked.
3) If that is working OCR the screenshots and make again sure that the system name is displayed correctly.
4) Go to Slopey's BPC and Click add prices: Now make sure that you have the correct STATION selected. The system is selected automatically but the station you have to manually select!
Now click import and everything should work fine..

Thought i'd finally give this a go after deciding not to use any tool during beta and gamma.

Have I missed a step during setup somewhere, it seems to think i'm always in Eranin. Ive never been to Eranin :)

It was mentioned numerous times before but:

1) add VerboseLogging="1" to the AppConfig.xml (in the network section) (the file is in the same folder where the launcher starts from, so where you installed the game. This is needed so that the Game puts your current location in the logs.
2) In the folder above, there is a Logs sub folder, point EPC in the options to that folder, so EPC can read the logs and knows where you are.

Yap, I mentioned that already.. Something is not quite right there..

I see, thanks.

I saw verbose mentioned a lot but never saw the reason to use it :) Cheers

Hi Sloppy mate.

Loads of issues with local mode (going to try and make a video or catch you in chat sometime today)

until then best way to test it is switch to local clear db, add 1 system/station then try and use any of the drop-downs on any tab will not show the system/station

it was like this in previous version also but i added extra stations to test if it just needed more data but it was the same.

Also the "- Added the station name to the return route data" might be more useful if it shows the station name that the return goods are coming from as i have had it where the return goods come from a different station than the initial delivery.
Maybe this is the reason for my confusion then... Hence my previous question:-

The last Updt From and To columns show the number of minutes since being updated. Hence shown as an integer rather than a full date/time. I guess Slopey did that to save space or make the data easier to upload or something. Anyway, you can see how old the data is and then judge whether to trust it or not.

On a side note...if you see a particular trade route that is a lot more profitable than others....it's probably due to dodgy data....the number of people who mistype or select the wrong commodity is quiet high. Mixing up semi and superconductors seems a favourite. :)

I saw one where a station's Rutile stock was incorrectly entered as it's sell price. I pretty much had to ignore an entire system to get a feasible trip.

I've see Gallium/Gallite mixed a lot too.

Slopey,

First off, thanks for all your effort, I work in the industry and fully appreciate the effort involved in this.

I decided I wouldn't use this tool until I could contribute effectively, and to that end I've been stooging around just collecting data and using it in a spreadsheet, now that EliteOCR and Slopey's BPC work together I thought I'd give it a whirl.

I'm currently docked at Engle Orbital in Arinna, there was no available data for it in the BPC and saw this as an opportunity to start using both tools in earnest.

I believe I'm using both correctly, however I received No Commodity Found messages for the following commodities:-
Synthetic Meat
Tea
Semiconductors
Superconductors
Wine
Water Purifiers
Slaves
Tantalum
Titanium
Uranium
Rutile
Uraninite
Synthetic Fabrics
Scrap

That list is in the order the dialogues popped up.
I have verified the commodities are in the CSV file.

This is a C&P of the header and the offending lines, I have the entire CSV too if it will help.

EDIT: The manual dropdown list when I attempt to enter the items manually stops at Robotics.

Calamitous.

^^ I guess the sooner this can be OCR'd in (easily) the better :)
I have to say sorry because it was partially my fault that Gallium and gallite were often confused. EliteOCR had correction tolerance at two-three letters. But as you realise those both only differ in two letters. So if both werent already in commodity list, then eliteOCR was making a mistake. Version 0.3.6.3 corrected this behaviour. Please use the newest version if possible.

I have to say thank you to you too, your tool is awesome and the newest versions doubly so, I've made most of my Credits using your tool and Excel so far.

semi conducter seems to have been severly overpriced. buy them for 700 creds on average and system says you can sell them for 7k each :p
