PC TO TV

Ok, I think thats the case for the HDTV well covered... other option is a monitor. Currently have a small 17" on my older pc, which I dont think will really do it justice.... how big do I need to go, as the coffers aren't bottomless. Min 24"?

?

You may want to approach it via specifications and your price target instead of size alone. I suggest you look at LCD or LED over plasma due to the tendency of plasma to fade faster. Beyond that, 1080p, 60Hz minimum with compatible inputs for the graphics card you have, with the largest screen size that fits your budget. It's good to check any reviews before purchase too and no matter which way you go, any electronics devices are intended to be throwaways when they fail. Sad... that's my background. Once upon a time you could make a living fixing TVs... now, not so much. It's intentional and "working as intended".
>
Oh... and this may show any weaknesses your graphics card has... prepare to be disappointed somewhat if your card isn't up to the task.

Lol, kid. The retort of the true intenet troll. Have fun trashing peoples choices.

I'm not responding to you anymore in public, you obviously don't have anything constructive to say. If you want to communicate with (troll) me please do it in a private message so other people don't have to read your drivel.

Thanks for the pic (have some +rep)

I have my spare 52" Samsung in the conservatory which never gets used anymore but the darn thing won't fit on my PC desk :(

I assume having a bigger screen works better with EDtracker?

I know my desk is a disaster lmao. This is an older pic of me playing a different game and with my crappy old Altec Lansing pc speakers. My desktop is still in rough shape. I really should clean it and take newer pics. But this is what I have available picture wise atm.

Whats in the red jar? lol

Which Joypad?

Afterglow 360 pad. I managed to put all controls on with holding a button down (like a shift key) and pressing other buttons.
E.g. Hold down Y button and pressing direction on d-pad does targeting. Left, right for prev/next target. Up, down for hostile prev/next.

Most of the buttons are done like that. I still forget what they all are sometimes.

I'd make sure the HDMI cable is reasonable quality, especially if you need a long one. Unshielded, cheap ebay cables can cause interference on your TV when other electrical items are switched on and off. No need to go overboard, just don't opt for the absolute cheapest 5 dollar type cables.

As with many things cable related, the HDMI standard states what the signal should be like at each end of the cable. If someone sells you one that doesn't work properly then it isn't to standard and should not have ben sold as an HDMI cable. In the UK you can get your money back, as for the rest of the world I wouldn't know.
I should mention that there's more than one HDMI standard, the newer standards cover higher data rates for higher resolutions but they all cover 1080p.

I think thats going to be the hardest bit..... remembering all the things you have to do, and which button you saved them on! lol. Ill be using part joystick and part keyboard to start, but I dont doubt Ill be getting something like a Saitek further down the line.

I'm playing on a 50" telly.

Sat in the lounge on the couch, Alienware laptop HDMI out'd to telly.

I think the answer to OPS question depends on the specific model of OPS telly and on what inputs are round the back that would take a computer.

OP is likely looking at HDMI or VGA only.

I got a 24" 3D PC monitor, and a 42" HDTV. I can watch both at the same time. I have both of them connected up to the PC but Ive never actually tried playing this game through the TV yet, cos I normally like to leave the TV showing TV (for those long journeys :))

Just wondering how many people are using a flat screen tv as a monitor and whether or not in order to do that you have to use an HDMI lead? Or are there other options?

I'm using a 22 inch flat screen tv as a monitor and connecting everything through hdmi. It works ok but I am saving up for a proper 4k monitor.

Well I just bought one of these http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/deskt...x-810-211na-gaming-pc-10014569-pdt.html#cat-0

as for the TV its a pretty non descript flat screen.... I just didnt want to go and spend however much it is for a HDMI Cable if it wasnt worth while.

It's just my opinion but I would never recommend anyone going to their local PC World to buy a computer. For what you paid in pcworld you could have saved yourself quite a bit of money if you'd bought the components and built the computer yourself. It sounds a bit complicated to do this but its really not. There are also lots of good videos on youtube explaining how to do this. I built my first computer a couple of years ago after watching some and the computer still works perfectly :)

Whats in the red jar? lol

Cinnamon Apple candle that I burn because I smoke lol. Right now I have a Black Cherry candle burning. I always have one going. I am working on breaking my smoking habit but ED is just killing me on that front. I light one and put it down, get wrapped up in the game and light another and put it down lol.

I've run the gaming PC to an LG PA75U, both through the HDMI and the VGA port. Enjoyed a great 137" experience, but only at 1200x800. Until I can upgrade to a 1080p projector, it will be the LG 55" at 1080p, through the HDMI. It all depends on the output your video card offers.

I play on a 64 inch plasma connected via HDMI to an AV receiver. I love it and couldn't imagine playing on a smaller monitor.

I too am considering this option. Let me throw this out there and hopefully get some feedback.

I just built a new computer and have a GeoForce GTX-970 video card. I am looking to pick up a flat screen for the wife, and sneak in the occaisonal elite session when I can. Would a 50" LCD 1080p with 120hz refresh get the job done? My video card has an HDMI output ( along with 2 game port and 2 diff DVI ports sheesh), should I just stick with HDMI?
