EliteOCR is meant for everybody who wants to extract the data from commodity market. If the data is irresponsibly used there is no use to provide it to other users. It is mostly wrong and it should be only used for internal use. Once the hype is over and the methods are improved it can be used by public again. (Sorry I'm drunk today evening ;-) )

Every third comment here is about eliteOCR and it shouldnt be.

Crashes with new version 4.0.1?

Hi,
updated this morning and since the update I have not been able to use BPC at all, I get errors about the database being malformed and then the app crashes.
Love this app and am looking forward to using it again.

Been using BPC for a few versions now and the only problem I had with this, and the last, version was that they froze at times when downloading new data.
I downloaded Net 4.5.2, and everything's working just fine :) (unclear if it was Net or your fixes that fix'd it...)

Faldren: Have you tried Clearing the Database(Options & Skins, Options Menu, Clear DB) and/or reinstalling BPC?

Hello,

I have problems with the database too! I have had clear database and download new force data, I have had reinstall BPC and then I get some crashes. Even new download BPC. I can apparently make nothing against it :(

I hope, you can undertake something against it!

Same here. I uninstalled the old version and reinstalled the new version and it worked fine after that.

I just tried importing from .csv, ~20 items gave me a pop-up "Commodity not found" even tho the .csv file is a carbon copy of what's displayed ingame.

Did anyone have this issue?

i agree; both tools work remarkably well together if used responsibly. And the misleading data is all about a common sense as well - if a deal looks too good to be true then, well, it probably is so ignore that info!

100% agree with this. both tools are great in their own right, but some people really need to read the threads, follow instructions and post in the right thread for each tool.

If you can create a CSV with elite OCR then you can import it into BPC no problems. 99% of the problems of not being able to achieve this will be user error or lack of reading previous posts for both tools.

Please take the time to read the previous posts and see if that helps with your issues.

I don't know is it supposed to work like this.
1. I have reset all settings, database.
2. Loaded new database, waited for it to be fully parsed.
3. When searching (within 12Ly limit is set, system Duamta, other setting default) it drops a list of four possible routes and then it stays unresponsive, (quad core cpu usage 25%, memory use is growing - in minute it is bigger by 10MB), STOP is not responsive.

For me it looks like some internal logic problem, maybe some loop is repeated over and over allocating resources. Also it is better to do calculations in a separate thread with check for flags so interface remains responsive and if flag is set thread stops.

Another thing noticed, there are some erroneous data in database. Because the trade route given from Duamta is to Test (abc) - looks like good people already screwing up this nice project by submitting nonsense.
Perhaps some additional safety should be added to check for data validity and to give a warning that the change will affect all people.

Just ran the same query and got 2361 results with no issues in a few seconds.

so sorry I can not be of more use. did you leave it to complete it's search?

Does not solve the issue here. I removed and completely cleaned up the old version, installed 4.1.1.0
- Checked that VerboseLogging is activated.
- Started it.
- Hangs there for some minutes.
- Crashes with Standard "Software Issue" Dialog after that.
- Found that the Program Folder create a "DB" file (and journal)
- Found that my AppData\Local folder contains slopey.com with old version (not deleted, not being asked to delete) with user.config
- Cleaned all that up and tried again
- Shows me the "first time" dialog (with "v3" information)
- Still crashes

Any further idea how this can be get to work ? Any registry keys from older versions left that confuses 4.1.1.0 ?
It was a great tool so far, but 4.1.1.0 is broken.

My only little concern is: Please use the "Busy" pointer when doing database transfers (or updates, maybe it is separated) as I often fell into the trap to do something while the database was updated (same when doing some calculations, I tend to get very impatient if the user interface does not react immediately to my input).

Hi - Great tool - few stability issues but overall really good. I did notice that there is no way of correcting mistakes, I guess to prevent people breaking the tool and peoples hard input data. There is a mistake within V774 Herculis where Vonarburg Enterprise station has been added, this station is in V775 Herculis (easy to see how the mistake happened.) I checked and the station has been added to the correct system so looks like its just a data clean up required.

Hi All,

If the BPC is crashing when you first start it, once it starts "Parsing", then UNTICK auto-update and leave it. Once it has finished parsing, you can tick Auto-Update again and it'll be fine.

The issue is the initial download is really quite large now (i'm going to cull it back a bit), and the updates are overlapping. I've fixed this in the next version which should be out later today.

A question about offline mode

Mine is not remembering the data I used on a previous days trading, am I doing something wrong?
