Why make the game easier?

Cos they are lazy and don't want to better their abilities. Game is too easy for me. Only died once since gamma. Would be good if difficulty level increased as the game went on.

If there was a Hard mode i would turn it on.

Yeah, there should be three modes.
Hard core multiplayer.
Mamby Pamby Nerf mode.
and solo.

Think what the Newbies moaners got to realise is they are amongst a lot of adults here and not little kiddies.

Maybe it's hard for them to realise that when many of these so called adults behave like spoilt kiddies. Using terms like newbie moaners ... how adult of you.

Or offended by your liberal use of what you seem to think is a knowledge of highschool level psychology mixed with apparently using proverbs as serious arguments, as a substitute for actually trying to understand what the other person is trying to get across, and then debating that subject. I mean that is what is offending me..

Get offended and try to downplay my understanding, knowledge or opinion and the way I express it... do what you must to feel better about yourself, I'll lose no sleep over it.
I care not what your motivation is, since it's obvious. You think you have the right to tell people how to express themselves. If you don't get your way you become offended.
You get outraged that I use a certain wording then try to disqualify my understanding and motivation inferring that your motivation and understanding has more validity and importance.
Well boo-hoo, be offended see if I care.

What I see is a hoard of gamers whom are used to the pointless console games on the market, trying to turn Elite Dangerous into yet another mindless game. I don't need a doctorate In psychology to understand human behavior and if I do use a 5th grade vocabulary it's for some of the nitwits that come here to understand me better.

I started out on the 16th. Today i'm at 300M in funds. I worked my butt off finding trade routes for myself. I've lost ships, outran ships, upgraded, downgraded..the game doesnt need to be dumbed down or made easier. I started out without an instruction book, and 1000 in cash. If you relax and focus, you can get things done. Use the forums, youtube, etc. All the help you need is there. I'm very happy it was hard at first, it makes it more satisfying to do it.

does "Hard core" continue to use the "Magic pots of full shield health" easy-peasy-pseudo-cheat mode of gameplay?

(just asking)

... if it does, then one thing it isnt is "hard core"... its more of a soft buttery centre with a fake hard shell on the outside.

Shield cells have definitely made combat pathetically easy in any ship (you can even kill anacondas in a hauler with them). They need to redesign them, or severely limit their usage.

I seem to remember the AI in general being much more challenging in the past as well. Anything smaller than an Elite Anaconda is super easy to beat now and I never seem to get in to fights where I'm being hit by multiple enemies any more. Other hostiles in the area just seem to mill around until I attack them first.

It makes me sad, I hope the game gets harder. Interdictions are few and far between and typically there's no ship there (a bug I know), or it's some supposed pirate who didn't even think to pack shields. Anyone remember that USS in beta where you'd start picking up some abandoned gold only for three Cobras to show up? I want more of that. Please.

Theres definitely should be different kind of encounters. Some designed for more experienced players, maybe informing that its a high risk signal/warzone or something before jumping in so players who likes "casual" playstyle would be informed. There's another problem. I remember then i was asking other player for help take out some anaconda ship as it was harder encounter as others. It was fun, some teamplay... But doesnt matter for now as i discovered shield potions removes any risks from a game anyways.

I remember those :D

I think that is the ONLY time I've ever been killed by NPCs in combat (I've been playing since alpha). Those sidewinder, eagle, cobra NPCs usually don't even land a single hit on me these days :/

something happened between gamma 1 and gamma two where interdictions went from a regular guantlet, to practically non existent.

it got very boring, very quickly.

I started to play at 16th of december. And i have to say ED is good but...

4 Example : Guns have a damage rating displayed as a bar... cool - my gun has a 1/4 filled up bar of damage. Great ! But what das it mean ? Aint get it.
2nd Example : Whow ! I can upgrade my shields ! GREAT ! if i do this some values will change. Mass of my ship , max jump range , power need to run it ... but what does it mean ?

If i now gather my collected information ED gives me i don´t know exactly how many "damage bars" my shield can stand. Does a D rated last longer as a E rated ? does is have more protection against weapons wich just have 1/8 of its damage bars filled up ?

I dont what ED to become a mindless console game ( even if the graphic downgrade from beta to final could be an adaptation for this ). I want ED to become easier EASIER to understand !

If you guys are all so damn smart you could do me a favor. Pls you dear gods climb down from your thrones and teach me. thanks !

They added some logic to them, which is good because interdiction spam was getting super annoying. There are things that make them more likely to attack now and authority ships wont interdict people with no bounty any more :)

I don't necessarily want it easier, but I would like it if things made more sense. At the moment I am finding a lot of the content to be hastily thought out and silly.

We've seen this happen in the education system where smarter students are held back because the State would rather go by averages, which never benefits those whom have the capacity to excel beyond the norm.

It seems the same thing has happened to EVERYTHING...I just read an article the other day about the "dumbing" down of first person shooters.
One of the tag lines that made me chuckle was "Back in my day, we had to rocket jump to school, with no auto-aim, uphill, both ways!!!"

I hate how the education system has caved to the LCD, it shows both in the student and the up and coming teachers. There is little hope that our offspring will ever be able to survive as a species if this downtrend keeps its pace. IMHO.

Rep Sir!

The worst part is... If you say anything to knock this blessed system which has put so many 'professionals' on the market, you get a warning from a moderator, bad rep from people who feel insulted, letters threatening the life of your cat, toilet paper on your car and strange substances in the pizza you had someone deliver.
