[RELEASE] Slopey's BPC Market Tool! - New version!

Any way to get the location to stop showing as "unknown" ? It's really annoying that I can't use the location to see distances to certain commodities.

It was mentioned numerous times before but:

1) add VerboseLogging="1" to the AppConfig.xml (in the network section) (the file is here [ED Install Folder]\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-xxxx). This is needed so that the Game puts your current location in the logs.
2) In the folder above, there is a Logs sub folder, point EPC in the options to that folder, so EPC can read the logs and knows where you are. (So that would be [ED Install Folder]\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-xxxx\Logs)

if this was fixed it would make local mode awesome, at the moment I am starting fresh each day building my own data, having our history without having to download would be great

Hi Sloppy

as many other have said, this is a great tool, and based on the work of ELite OCR, am happy to use it to try and find out how to be a better trader.

Thanks for the input re starting it up and ticking off auto update. However now I've got the database downloaded and parsed, when I type in my current location and ask it to do a generic search within 25 ly give it my cargo hold, and credits and specify any station, I get nothing. It doesn't seem to be doing anything other than sitting there. Momentarily a button flashes up next to 'Search' but goes as quick, so not sure what is happening. I've tried all sorts of combinations but it doesn't do anything more to effect a search at all. This is using the latest version as of this time.

Sorry got the answer I ticked off the LY limit and that seemed to do it.

Thanks

Ab

I have the same problem and have done the above. I still have the unknown location showing.

Just before starting the game double check (open with text editor) Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1003\AppConfig.xml and make sure VerboseLogging="1" line is present in that file. If it is not, then you will not be able to get the location. Also after game update AppConfig.xml may be rewritten with new version, so again you will have to check.

I apologise if this seems to be a stupid question, but what is the correct way to run the BPC? Should I start the game first and then start the BPC or the other way round, does it matter which way you start the BPC?

thank you very much
Tried google searches but didn't think to search the thread itself.

waht is Last uptade from and Last update to column? can anyone explain what it means?
If you calculate a route you fly "from" a system "to" a system, this value tells you how old the data is since it was updated last. The older the data gets, the less confidence you should have in it. Data that is 2-3 hours old should be pretty reliable, but data that is days old, not so much. The value is currently stored as minutes, so 60 is an hour, 1440 is a day.

I'm fixing it just now. I've already fixed the insert/update bug, just needing to get it to refresh better and local mode will be working properly.

As someone already said, it doesn't matter. The BPC doesn't pull anything out of the game - you have to manually update prices in it with the "Add/Update prices" button.

Did the following to make search working and stop crashes:

Fully remove BPC tool:
1. Close Slopey's BPC Market Tool and close Elite.
2. Check if ED_BPC.exe process is running, if it is Kill It. (that process often stays after a crash, making impossible to start BPC without a crash)
3. Now uninstall Slopey's BPC Market Tool.
4. Delete folder where Slopey's BPC Market Tool was installed.
5. Go to your Local\AppData and delete Slopey.com folder.

Install latest version:
1. Install Slopey's BPC Market Tool.
2. Run it, configure to your log directory.
3. If it says that Elite should be restarted, start Elite and start your game.
4. BPC tool will parse the local data.
5. Now search for some data (for me it worked)

Can I request next update to correct linkage for Silver, Cobalt, Platinum & Palladium as they are being listed as Minerals not Metals (v4.1.1.0) or can we modify the link directly?

Cheers

I have checked and it is set to 1 prior to the game running.

Slopey is to nice to say it himself, but if you think BPC is an amazing tool that enhanced your E:D Experience, you should consider a small donation via paypal to keep the servers running. There is a donate button right in the options menu.

Thanks again for all your time and effort Slopey, server(s) were at full capacity with 500 users just two days ago, and now it's smooth sailing with almost twice that.
