This was a really nice start in the morning. I planned a good profit tour, filled my cargo space and
launched my freshly washed and polished Clipper. :cool:
AND THEN IT HAPPENS!! Just at that moment I passed the starport entrance an approaching sidewinder cutted me! :eek:
I had no chance to get by. He touched my right wing and now there is a big dent in! :mad:
He flew away and now I am sitting on the repair costs!!!!!!! :mad:

It can't go on like this!!

Either we need traffic lights or a multilane entrance!

Or a shield generator & full pips to it when enter & leaving.

Plus, I think you have 5 minutes to exit ... easily enough time to check for oncoming traffic.

Dude, thats cool. Just use full power to shield. I was flying into dock with Cobra at full speed perfectly aligned and sidewinder hit me. They are still cleaning the debris to this day probably. No fine though, only more blood on my conscience.

you mean besides the red and right traffic lights on the exit?

Two days ago I put my shield generator in for a service! Therefore I have to get along without shielding over the weekend.
But apart from this: He appeared out of thin air, I doubt that rowdy is in possession of a full flying license!!

Bigger ships have right of way. Even if the other guy doesn't know it. There is only 1 winner when it's clipper vs sidewinder :p

It helps going on the green side even with AI's - depending on what you fly, you can squeeze past. Bir harder and more panicky if you aim center. With that said, station rotation is least noticeable on center, so it is easiest going there.

If I fly an Anaconda, or Boa, I'll brake for nobody. Wiping gnats off the windscreen is part of the joy of flying. :D

Yeah, I've noticed some ships fly in the center of the slit.... but to the OP, if you're flying without shields, that was your choice. Your position and timing of your exit was of your own control as well. Asking devs to "fix" something because you messed up just doesn't seem like good form. Next thing we'll have people asking for auto-docking requests so that they don't get shot down when they forget to ask for clearance...... and then an auto-lower-landing-gear-for-when-I-can't-be-bothered requests..... and so on.

Of course if your post was made with sarcasm and reverse psychology, then don't mind me... :D

I once had to get out in a hurry. I got a rather large dent because of my miscalculation! 45% Hull integ. Ahh its all good, I managed to get out quickly enough despite the prang and licked my wounds in the next station. When asked by the repair crew what happened I just said it was some teenage high jinx. Don't think they bought it.

Interesting the Cobra is the only ship you cannot fly through the slit vertically (too wide) (havent tried the heavy lakon)... so you can minimise your exit footprint that way

lol i laughed my6 ass off wwhen a type 7 tryed top cut me like that ( was in my fed dropship) he died a very painfull dead i might geuss. i had a nice repair bill but just the thaught he blew up his 20 mil ship blew up like a shieldless sidey was priceless

Actually the lights are port and starboard lights red for port (left) and green for starboard (right), however you always keep to port in a ship so I do the same in game.. Always approach port from the port side :) f you both face each other then both of you turn to port :) martme rules seem to work for me :) oh and bigger ships get priority as they are slower to turn :p

Yeah! I'm with the OP! How dare the npcs scratch my ships! As if it wasn't enough that they go stealing my kills, or annoying my cruising by interdicting me, now they spoil my fresh paint jobs. I demand that FD fix this appalling npc behaviour asap just like they fixed the other two.
