Has the trading update improved it?

my boost run ive been doing for a week has just disapeared completely. Very unrealistic i know the market is supposed to be dynamic but how does a system suddenly stop producing a metal with no reduction first. So random and i feel like they just cap and nerf any remotely good run. Annoyed!

Meh, no. The profit margins are still really low for it to be of interest for me. Hauling tons of cargo for 100 cr profit per unit? Not my idea of fun. But then again, I was probably not born to be trader.

Certainly hasn't improved the 'Logic' problems.
Commodities that are allegedly imported/ exported that have NO reason to be in demand in target system.
Commodities that are allegedly exported that are then cheaper in target system.
etc. etc.
Missions given for goods that are in short supply (which would = high demand at that station) Not being in demand at said station.
I could go on. . .
Completely spoils any immersion and makes it feel like a 'game' and all a bit 'silly' or 'childish' really.

The trade route data won't have updated yet, that takes a couple of days to refresh.

today for me its completely broken. Im in a group of about 6 systems that used to have loads of metals and now they all have nothing . Absolute disator today please roll back.

Exactly! I'm not sure all the ins and outs of the market problems but I am now seeing better balanced demand and supply but that doesn't mean you will now suddenly make loads of cash! In fact making to much would make it to easy. I've made 275k its taken me quite a few hrs but if id made millions already it would be to easy.

THIS! magicaces; (Every) MMO, MMORPG, has balancing questions; not only by the players but by disparity in agreement between the devs themselves. The 'balancing' regarding trading is (becoming) optimal. When approximately 2/3rd's of the player base is happy with it and the other third is not; the trade balancing will be correct...

Wait until you find a bulletin board mission of asking for - example - Food cartridges, and the very same station is selling it at a discount price, because there is very low demand of it.
You basically go back to the commodities menu, by the amount they want and click the mission accept, then click "give cargo'. Mission completed, in less than 1 minute.

I´m pleased, my route has recovered. High Supply AND high demand on both ends now. 1,2k creds one way, 1k other.

import/export data is correct, direction is logical.

*** i´m SO happy trading has been fixed :D

IMHO (not sure yet) there are much bigger issues rooted in the Trading "logic" than a few too many or too few NPC traders.
It's as if an economist has created this model - with expected results :p

Still, it's bizarre to see >200000 Ls Stations having no high demand and often no High Supply, they're just sitting there and apparently being serviced like any other Station 100Ls from its next trade partner.
No sane NPC Trader would pick something like that for a trade route, as time is money and such Stations are at a hughe disadvantage.

Still, I think the NPC trading doesn't take any of these basic factors into account at all.
I'd bet the famous Harrison (0.22LY) Station is getting just as included and serviced into normal NPC Trades as any other System. Such a Station would have to pay horrendous premiums to attract any trades. We'd be talking ludicrous demand levels.

Good observation, would be nice if the remote places were affected more by lower trade.

The patch notes clearly state that the fix will take a couple of days to propagate. The FD rep just confirmed that. Some of y'all might benefit from actually READING the notes before jumping on here to complain... that said, keep up the good work FD, really looking forward to seeing the market in action once properly balanced!

A station I'm docked at had all low / medium demand last night.

I logged in this morning and every demand commodity is high.

Yes, the trading updates have worked. Get out there in non-populated stations and start making some credits!

Its really paying off to do missions with tarde now. Since the missions benefits the station/system. I worked it up to high supply, high demand with economic boom etc.

I am starting to see a change on the market data where I am. Trade routes I knew and could rely on to make me lots of money are now vanishing as stations are starting to sort themselves out on import and export demands. Even seeing places where they demand high amounts as well.

Me too. I'm seeing High demand again, and systems import/export according to their type. Profits are, well, great TBH.

I'm in relatively low populated space, so maybe that is why it recovered so fast and so significantly this afternoon. I'm guessing systems more traveled by CMDRs will take longer to adjust.
