How are people making there millions so easily?

I keep wondering this there i am in my Cobra i was making at least 200k a day with bounty's so i thought ok i now have enough for a type 5 so i got that and im like ok lets do trading *30 mins later....* 8k PROFIT?! REALLY? i can get more than that in less that 4 mins with bounty hunting. So then i tried mining *5 mins later* UGH this is taking forever... and its so slow... *30 mins later* Ok so now im back in my cobra that i traded the type 5 for and now ill do bounty hunting Again... still 200k tops per day if lucky.

So now im sitting here wondering how are people making millions so fast? the other day i saw a guy in a asp... the game has been out for 6 days or 8 and he has an asp... REALLY? those are 6 million

Can anyone help me out here on how to make millions super easily?

EDIT: I also play this every single day and yes i play at least 5-10 hours straight

Well many continued through Gamma prior to launch and accumulated a lot of credz.

I know where you are coming from, as I see many posts showing great trades or big profits, but I havent got that myself.

After 40-50hrs playing I have around 100k (few reasonable upgrades on my Cobra) but feel like I really havent got far yet. No ranks or anything!

I am sure some will come through with some suggestions, but I would say to you ... what is the rush? (no offence meant)

Cheers

Yeah i gues there is no rush but i want a Clipper but its taking so long to get ANYTHING lol

Wait until you see my Python fly past you :)

It is possible to get an asp that quickly but that player also could have been a gamma player like myself.

Finding the right trade route helps. Using the Galnet news to your advantage helps. I only did one rare run but in a cobra you can make 1 million plus per hour on rare runs if you put in the preparation and don't mind a lot of station hopping and long distance travelling.

Rare runs as they are now are best suited for a Cobra in my humble opinion.

I don't know if thats what I am making is much, however. Try to buy ore from systems, that are only mining and delivering them to a system without any miningstation (2x tourism, 1x agriculture in my case). A system like this often pays more for Silver, Gold and Palladium than what you have to in nearby systems.
I'm flying a 2x8, 1x2 cargo Hauler, making 18000Creds profit per turn (8-10 minutes, depends if i can get a landing pad or have to wait for a few minutes)

There is enough credits for everybody. You gotta monetize and monopolize. My wealth came from slave trade and smuggling the garbage that nobody else would. That afforded me a nice Lakon Type-6 to do more. So I trade a 100 tons of rare goods and when I need a vacation I go around in my Viper and have some fun. My next expansion is to a Type-7.

hi guys just to give you my personal experience.
I started to play at official release, and i fly a nicely fitted ASP at the moment.
I admit i played a lot, but i played to make money fast, sidewinder (illegal missions such as black boxes...)-----> Cobra (bounty hunting at extraction points= around 50 to 100k/hour)--------> T6 (space trucking with a 112T making 180k profit every 16/20min)-------> ASP
To me bounty hunting is enjoyable i love it, space trucking is a pain but well i did it first to give a try and to cash fast. Now with my ASP i can truck AND bounty hunt, maybe i ll have to go for a T7 or T9 to get enough cash for my so desired Python we'll see.

Just my personal experience how to cash pretty fast AND enjoy the game (even space trucking during 5 or 6 hours no more ;) )
IT s up to everyone to find his/her way of playing and enjoying this fabulous game.

See you in space pilots.

Early on, trading in rare commodities is probably your best bet. Even the sidewinder can make a good profit with those. Basically, find a system with a rare commodity, buy as much as they have available (it won't be much, 1-10 usually, but the profit per-ton is huge), then take them about 150ly away and sell them. Ideally, sell them in a system which itself has a rare commodity, for a highly profitable two-way trip. That alone will get you into a bigger ship in a few runs.

Once you get into a slightly bigger ship than the sidewinder, you'll want to find clusters of worlds with rare goods and trade between those, picking up goods from 3-5 systems before trekking the 150ly to sell, then repeat in the other direction. One such route is between Lave and 39 Tauri, both of which have several other systems with rare goods fairly near them, and a long enough distance between the two to max out profit. That can make you around 500k per trip, or a solid million for a round trip, and you'll be well on your way to a larger ship to do REAL trading with, relying on smaller returns per-ton but sheer bulk to make up for it.

I hope that helps you get started :)

[Edit] Quick note: You'll definitely want a fuel scoop for the long haul trips. Even the basic 300cr one will do, though it does take its sweet time.

Trading is for the peasants, I'll make my fortune by bringing an honourable death to the dishonourable at a leisurely pace that’s becoming of an aristocrat.

There's no rush unless you really, really want to cruise arround showing of your chromed space rims (Imperial Clipper).

Related: It looks like the latest tweaks by the devs today have gone a long way to returning the underlying economic system to something resembling sanity.

If it all doesn't go haywire again this means that a) you will be able to use the tools provided in-game to work out possible solid trade routes and b) those routes can net you 800-1600Cr/Ton.

Good luck!

QE

Agreed, with the ASP i can do pretty much everything so now i do what i love i take my time ;)
space trucking was really hard but u do what needs to be done :)

Its worth moving out from the starter systems, the trade values there are depressed from so many players trading there.

Go out, find your own trade route away from everyone else. You should be able to make 200-400 per unit for the cheaper goods or up to 1k per unit for the expensive stuff with a bit
of scouting and comparing market prices. Then once you get a bigger ship, even more cash, the type 6 can easily carry 100 with shields, the type 7 200, the type 9 500, but its still
a very long up to bigger ships.

In an Asp with 92t cargohold (Type 6 can carry even more):

Performance Enhancers from A to B: 90.252 cr (981 cr/ton profit)

Palladium from B to A :156.492 cr (1701 cr/ton profit)

total profit: 246.744 cr, time taken: 12 minutes (including one evaded interdiction)

You, Mr CookieJarviz, are one heck of a bounty hunter, if you can get a better rate from that than from trading. :D

8k? You're doing it wrong. Even before they fixed the demand I was making about 500 per ton per trip (so 50k in a Type 6) and that sort of trade route is very easy to find.

But let me ask you this: how long did it take you to get good at bounty hunting? Why did you think you would be a successful trader after only 30 minutes of trying it? Trading and mining are exactly the same as bounty hunting: they require skill and experience to be any good at. If you're not willing to put in the effort to build up some knowledge then yes, you'll fail at those careers and be better off sticking to bounty hunting.

I had a Type 7, was making clear 260,000 every 11 minutes!!!!

You need to find the perfect buyer for the perfect seller. They are there and have each with something to sell the other. 5 minutes there for 130,000 and 5 back for another 130,000.

Stations will fay above average for goods not easily obatined, E.G. not within 14Ly.

You can use Slopey tool to analyze the market to compare your performance and look for analogs... If you see a good trade in Slopey... Check in the galaxy map for the type of systems that make that trade and look for similar situations that should produce similar profits...

Can someone teach me proper trading? I would suspect it's more profitable in the commerce-extreme Federation, but I'm an Imperial. I live in Sorbago, and I don't going 100 LY in a Type 6, just tell me exactly how economies work. All I know is buy weapons in Dictatorships and buy minerals in extraction points, as well as buy metals in refieries and foods in agriculture. Any fine tips?
