Civil war means conflict zones

Have I got this right? If you find a system in a state of civil war then there will be conflict zones there?

I've not experienced a conflict zone and I didn't really want to travel as far as the one mentioned in Galnet news.

I thought I read Mike saying that where there were civil wars there would be conflict zones - but I may have got the wrong end of the stick.

Could somebody fill me in?

- not literally, that'll happen at the conflict zone. :)

I wanna know as well since I've seen a couple of systems at civil war but haven't spotted any conflict zones around.

Just heard back from Michael on this - conflict zones should exists in systems in a state of war or civil war, but we might need to search for them.

Thanks again, Michael.

I've travelled to Durius and can't find the zone. Please if anyone finds the combat zone in Durius can you write me where to look. thanks and happy christmas commanders

LOL, I figure you can't be bothered to go towards the only two stations in this system can you?

Actually it wasn't about been bothered, I work full time and only read about the conflict before my time to go sleep last night, so I didnt have time to explore all the unexplored areas and travel 250k l/s to the station.

Visited several CZ today, but dont seem to get anything for kills :( Chose faction, killed what was in front of me, got a white upside down triangle after kill, but nothing to cash in. Also saw Federation Checkpoints which consisted of 4 nav beacons, and some heavy ships with teeth. Let me fly around them without any threats. Mind you they all deployed HP when I did the same.

Head to either of the two space stations, it will only take you five minutes. When in their vicinity combat zones will appear in the navigation list.

Busy or not, it's worth it to see a capital ship kick butt.

Had you taken a combat mission before engaging? They can be found on bulletin boards on both stations in the station.

Otherwise you're wasting ammo.

My experience:
state
civil war -> no conflict zones or I haven't found any in those systems
war -> multiple conflict zones also in Solo mode. (was there in Durius Solo, 2 heavy and 2 low intensity)

I've encountered the same thing with everyone just flying around like they are all best pals... Not sure what to make of it. Neighboring systems offer kill missions into the zones but if I take the mission I get bad rep with the faction I side with.... Love to know if it is working as intended or needs some other action to trigger actual fighting.

I believe it's bugged at the moment. I took a combat mission for the Empire and afterwards my rep with them suffered. Took a mission to fight for the locals and afterwards my rep with them went down too.

The combat zone itself is working right tho. No one will attack you until you attack the first ship of either faction. That means you can watch some beautiful fireworks free of threat.

I Lave there has been a state of civil war for days between the Defence Party Of Lave and The Jet Family, and I would like to support the former against the latter, but haven't been able to find any conflict zones.

I'd like to ask a really noob question about the Durius conflict if I may. I've played through almost every playstyle available before release, but the one I never got into was Conflict Zones.

I choose a side, I know that. This makes the other side Red in my scanner.

As far as I can tell, the Durius system is ruled by a Federation-aligned faction and the Empire are waging war against them.

Does this make the conflict a zero-sum reputation choice between Empire and Federation?

I had been hoping to keep a neutral character popular enough with both sides to fly their ships.... will participating in this conflict send me irrevocably down one path or another?

Durius is ruled by an Independent Faction and does not belong to the Federation.
The war is between this Independent Faction (somethink like Durius Domion..) and and Empire Faction. You will see when you enter the System. There are those 2 faction in state of war and you will have to choose one of those when entering the conflict zone. So check before which one is which.

I believe that if you don't take missions but just enter the battle zone and collect the bounties and have them payed in at the station that then you don't loose any reputation.
I fought for Durius and I was alied with the Empire before. And I am still alied with them despite I killed many of their ships int his zones.
