Sorbago conflict over?

As someone who doesn't use social media (twitter/Facebook etc) where was this information presented in the game?
.
I didn't see any news on it though I could have missed it. If this is how the story of the game is going to work then it should be presented in game. Social media is should be an optional extra.

Galnet, in-game

Actually just checked in game and galnet doesn't say anything but I am sure I didn't see it on Facebook
Bizarre

This is crazy..... I have been fighting for slaves since release in that system. have killed hundreds of imperials, even a few cmmdrs. Done heaps of missions but couldn't get influence up 1%. It's broken.
It was stuck at 28%. Haven't played for the past few days because of work. So now you're telling me that the empire won? Dynamic my ass... looks like the powers that be have intervened.

Agreed.
I don't twitter or facebook. Please FD, keep the news in-game first. Social media should be secondary.

There's a galnet post about it currently.

Chances are with the story events the influence will be locked during the event time. The devs can still monitor data on their servers and the apply them at the end of the event.

dukes of mikinn are currently being supported by playes in expanding out of their 1200 station outpost into nearby systems. Some fringe system HR something is currently falling to them as well

Perhaps you were in the minority. Also, I imagine losing the war was a major influence hit.

You're right I was. But the influence for both sides was at a stalemate. Both at 28%. But now they won?? I thought it was a bug. Perhaps it wasn't showing the correct influence... anyway I'm rightly peeved. Not because of losing. But because I wan'ted to feel like it was truly dynamic and changing.
All that happened was warzones/BB missions until influence rose and that was it, over. Was hoping for more...

The influence was locked on both sides during the event. Near the end, the SDF was most likely nowhere near 28%, despite what was being shown. I think that's just where the both started.

It did appear on Galnet although i cant see it anymore.

I fought for the emprah and all the CMDRs i saw there were also on the Empire side.

I only saw two commanders during my time fight for the slaves. Myself and many others fought for the Empire.

Also after reading a post from the devs saying that trade goes a long way to determining which side wins I also started to do trade runs in slaves, weapons, food and anything else in high/medium demand. Along with the trade missions which often gave a +1% to influence and helped add a lockdown effect to the system. (What ever lockdown and outbreak means.)

So I helped stopped people from starving brought in weapons for the Empire and helped apply a lockdown pressure during the event. As well as fighting in combat zones. This was my role during the conflict in Sorbago.

Wanted to head to Jera to help there but it seems there is no conflict there and the Empire lost their take over bid in that system.

Galnet seems to drop news too quickly sometimes. I've seen this elsewhere where a few of us got a faction to complete its pending status. It was in the local news for less than 12 or so hours, which isn't long enough for a lot of people's online times.
