FSD Interdictor and his evil side

Hail Commanders,

I put all my effort to get an ASP but I'm very frustrated that every time I interdict even with success I got around 3% of hull damage.
For an ASP equals something like 10k credits.. It has no sense then go hunting with a bigger ship or I'm doing something wrong?

the damage is avoidable?

I think damage is only avoided upon submission. If you win the interdiction, you both take some hull damage. Makes sense for the victim but he who initiates the interdiction shouldn't get damage for winning the interdiction.

Yeah this is the one reason I avoid piracy right now, especially in a bigger ship. I've taken over 8% hull damage once for winning the interdiction.

Agree, this is nonsensical. IMO no damage should occur to either party on interdiction. I don't see what the gameplay benefit is in having hull damage on an interdiction. I got interdicted by the feds, couldn't escape, took hull damage, they scanned me, then left. Equivalent to a police officer stopping me, smashing my tail light, then telling me I need to fix my tail light!

I wonder if the larger class and higher rated interdictor modules have some kinda mitigation of the hull damage taken.

You interdict, you get damaged unless they submit. That's about the gist of it - works as intended. Don't go hunting with big ships, unless you can pay the paintjob.

If you can afford and Asp fitted out for combat, you can afford a 10k credit repair bill can you not?

The point is that even an anaconda does often not have more than 50 k bounty, so during every interdiction you lose 10 k profit, which is bull.

BTW swear filter in these forums are so ridicoulus its almost censure.

Then hunt them with a cheaper boat. And what comes to the swearing... Frontier doesn't make games only for adults, you see this is but a sub-forum.

Ehm no? I play to advance and get bigger ships with time otherwise why should i keep playing? to amass senseless riches which i cannot use in the way i want to?

Bigger ship doesn't equal to best profit in what comes to bounty hunting or piracy. Bigger/biggest ship is good only for trading - YMMV tho.

No. There are combat and trading ships. There is absolutely 0 point for a combat player to advance to the next ship if his profits do not keep up with the maintenance of the new ship. That is simply bad game design and has been mentioned countless times in these forums.

It's not bad design. It's just design to make different careers to choose different ships, or we'd all be flying ship X in the end - and THAT would be bad design.

So you have every bounty hunter or conflict zone player flying a Viper or a Cobra for the rest of his life since all future ships are too costly to maintain. Eliminating all possible progression (after upgrading to A gear) in the game.

If you dont think that that is bad game design then im afraid you dont know much about how to make games and how to keep players playing them.

Yep the career of anyone that doesn't want to trade and would rather bounty hund basically equals max out viper grind anaconda missions, congratz you've reached the pinnacle of your career, and for some odd reason traders seem to be overly jealous of there risk free credit fountain and actively resist any move towards making other professions viable.

Personally i think its because they wanna trade into the best possible ship and make sure that the combat minded don't get into an equal position anytime soon.

It really starts eating in to your bottom line is the problem.. If I spend 2 hours bh, do awesome and take no hull dmg and make like 400k, then it's happy times, my only costs are fuel and a few thousand for ammo. But that same scenario, when I have one really hairy fight and take 60% hull dmg in my last fight, then that 400k just turned into 220k... Yes that is almost half my creds into a repair bill (10% hull dmg is 33k in repairs actually, so the repair bill would be higher in fact). So for me, playing bh in an asp is a constant game of NEVER LET THE SHIELDS GO DOWN.

Yes, never let the shields go down - if you do, you're doing something seriously wrong - regardless of ship.

It's a stupid penalty, for both sides. Supercruise is annoying enough without adding needless layers of penalties for doing basic things things like interacting with another ship.
