Elite is all about trading

Just like in real life. You go to work, so you can get money for cool new stuff. Then again this is a video game, and it shouldn't be like that.

Maybe it's about trading for you. It's about smuggling contraband and salvage for me. And an occasional bounty on the side. It's not about the credits for me. It's the experience.

At the moment trading makes you most money. That does not mean Elite is all about trading, it means that trading makes you the most money. Those things are not the same.

I see trading as a means to making a decent amount of cash. The money will let me buy a decent exploring ship, a decent mining ship, and maybe even some sort of fighting ship (more probably a punchbag if you've seen me play).

Cheers, Phos.

I have to disagree. Elite is not about trading. I do not trade and have over 5 million in assets.

There is plenty of money to be made doing other stuff.

I used to trade, but now it's about exploration for me. Finding those particular systems, and populations.

Well thats fine but DB did say that no one area of the game should be any better than the rest. I don't mind trading but other areas of the game should be equally competitive.

I've received 30,000 credit bounties before, so I would beg to differ. I also just got a load of gold that one of my wanted Hauler victims tried to dump out to entice me not to kill him. I got the bounty and smuggled the gold. It was a good day in the verse.

Did you kill him anyway?
