What do you think is the most boring part of the game?

Supercruise. Every other part of the game I can see why it's designed the way it is, even if I don't particularly like it. Supercruise though is the design equivalent of someone drawing in crayon with their tongue poking out of the corner of their mouth.

Supercruise is probably the best aspect of this game. Sure, it needs some tuning to make it more fluid and a little faster. But what people don't realize is that space travel takes forever. Even if you can travel at the speed of light or faster it still takes a LONG time. Hell, the theory of relativity makes traveling at the speed of light impossible. But in this game we are able to manage speeds many times faster than the speed of light. Thankfully we're not limited by relativity in this game. I for one enjoy supercruise.

The most boring part of this game for me would have to be mining. I wouldn't mind it if you didn't have to stop and pick up the ore. I've found that it despawns really quickly which just gets frustrating and tedious.

Well the game is a newly build house, now it needs furniture and stuff "content / adjustments" Give it time, it'll get better...

I can only say I enjoy the game alot, im a huge sci-fi Space geek..

Im an old Eve Online player, and i find Eve massively boring. Its like Excel with small spaceships, and i hope they dont change the way we travel the ED universe.

You guys want auto pilot for everyhing, and tractor beams and etc.. if that stresses you, this game probably isnt for you.. move on. I agree the mining part needs some adjustments, but basicly its fine as it is.. seriously tractor beams ???

Its like the real World, the younger generation wants everything easy, move as little as possible...no wonder i see fat pale kids everywhere. And in the gym they cant lift anything.. WEAKNESS.

I don't think adding 'tractor beams' would hurt anything. People don't understand that they are entirely possible and at some point we will invent them in the real world. There are many ways to achieve the effect through gravity manipulation or simple magnetism. It's really not that far fetched...

That reply accomplishes nothing. What are you implying? That because you find it fun everyone else does? Or that they should? You don't address the issues that were stated ("just stars and rocks") and you don't provide any counter examples of things that are more interesting than that, or why stars and rocks are actually more interesting than he claims.

All you do is marginalize an opinion you don't agree with. Why?

"stars and rocks" is why. Face it, just because you think something is boring doesn't mean other people are not enjoying it. Personally I can not get any real pleasure out of trading, but I enjoy the odd mining session once in a while (especially since you get pirates at you extraction point now). In real life I met people who genuinely LOVE accounting ... mindboggling if you ask me.

So to get back to the OP : trading is boring *to me*. I like SC. if you find it boring then you're doing it wrong :p I like USS ... it's a bit like Kinder Surprise. I like mining ... listening to soothing music, trying to find the motherload, keeping an eye on the other ships in case one might be a pirate .. I like bounty hunting. The thrill of facing a stronger opponent, the joy when it finally explodes ... the 5-6 digit number blinking in the upper right corner ;-)
I like exploring too ... seeing sights nobody else saw, the solitude of deep space (would be nice if there were really empty systems, without the odd pirate/ship though) ... trading? boooooooooring. but I get it that some people like it, so let them enjoy it.

USS: The king of random non-persistent immersion breaking nonsense

and missions that pay off so little it´s not worth doing them anymore

and mining

I find that generally the parts where I'm not alt-tabbed out are the most boring, but if I had to pick... docking, undocking, boosting to or from mass lock, watching the screen lag as I go into or out of supercruise or jump, accelerating, decelerating, avoiding things to see because things to see slow you down, waiting for the pointless outfitting animation, slowly working away at an npc's shields before it jumps away at 5% anyway, doing missions, trying to find the right uss while keeping myself from admitting it's random, mining, ...

I'm being tounge-in-cheek: It's not really a game, is it? It's a sim/sandbox. Very little of ED is actually fun in the game sense; rather, it's "cool" in the simulation sense, so I spend a lot of time out of the game planning ahead and figuring out where I'm going, what I want to visit, etc. If I was actually playing this as a game, I'd have kicked it to the curb a long time ago.

The most boring in game for me are the ppl who complaining about what is boring in game. supercruise is boring, like when you walk the shop to buy something. Say god that its too realistic and nerf walking... Scripts, rocks, planets, stars what boring you? Why did you bought the game? what did you expect? some fancy magic? Orcs? Flying pandas? Go play call of duty and like games and about how boring is that you shoot with weapons.....

You ppl are pat...ic.

First people started QQing that they dont get space sim game.... not they got an awesome SIM!!!!!!!! (yes supercruise, planets, docking....) NOOOOOOOOW ppl QQ that the Sim what they wanted is Sim.... LAWL..... You guys playing much mmorpg do you?

Get some real issues what makes you bored. Like hunting missions, where you get 3 locations, you go one of it, USS, get info, go there, kill a conda, and repeat.

You all have serious issue if you wanted a simulator, now QQ that its not arcade..... Go back to wow or hello kitty online or eso or whatever.

Supercruise could do with being trimmed in half.

Perhaps allow the buying of an enhanced supercruise device that cuts the time for this in about half.

USS randomness that wrankles me a lot.

Supercruise is some sort of game designers punishment on us. 25k ls away, I Usually just alt-tab out to look at pron and end up over shooting my target.

Over shooting a target because of shooting over a target, so to speak.

*ahem* I'll get my coat.

For me it's got to be the loading scren.

Followed by the unhumanly painful 200k LS trips to secondary star in the systems.

Supercruise and having to trade to get anywhere in the game beyond a Cobra. The USS hunting isn't too bad, just drop your speed to minimum (30km/s), open up locations tab and wait for one to pop up, you can then instantly engage destination lock, no need for that tedious decelerating. Of course its still pretty boring.

Coming onto the forums during server downtime and seeing yet another thread on unbalanced modules, swapping between Solo and Open, people complaining about losing their ship when they didn't plan ahead with insurance...that kind of stuff. Oh...in game...nothing bores me. I have RL things to keep things balanced though.
