Sorry but I like the Adder

Hmmmm the site has this

The Adder is another classic design, this ship was tailored as a general utility vessel. The original model was first built in 2914 by Outworld Workshops and the type is now manufactured by Zorgon Peterson. Although lightly armed it has more cargo capacity than the Sidewinder and this ship can often be seen doing shuttle runs as well as light trading.

Sounds like multi-purpose

well thank you very much people in the thread now I HAVE to buy an adder
is it good for mining? I wanted a mining ship anyway

I have heard that its very good for mining because it has a slot for a class 2 mining laser. with that said, its visibility out the window is less to be desired

I am not sure I agree that its on the 'explorer' route because of the window but as a general purpose it seems pretty nice.

moreover, it seems to be what dignitaries would want to ride in when being taxi

Really? What is your current location, so I can pull up alongside and take a looksee?

Since the first time I saw the Adder in the shipyard I knew I'd buy one. Overall stats are better than a sidewinder (no downside shown), I like the way it looks and it has a cool name (as in, you can only add things to an Adder). But now I'm wondering if I should buy a Hauler first for cargo purpose or just wait for those 30k more credits and go straight for the Adder...

I also like the Orca, for some reason.

I like it so much I don't think I will get a Cobra but go from the Adder to a Type 6. Then when I Make money with the type 6 I will probably get an Adder for a second ship

Great ship the adder.

I got Cobra mk3 now and enough Money for a lakon, but i cant get myself to leave my Cobra, i simply love the looks and how it feels to fly.

I ran the Adder until I had my first million then went into a Type 6. I found waiting the extra 30k for an Adder over a Hauler to be the far better choice considering how much more cargo it can hold. Once I had it modded up, it was pretty good for a trade runner.

I had been put off it by its look (not very Adder or Elite looking) but it seems all Vipers in my game have no central HUD making combat and everything else a bit tricky there was nothing else in my price range bar going straight back down to a Sidewinder. It is actually a pretty good ship although would like to see more variety of ships in its range such as the Cobra MkI, always thought that was a cool looking ship.

It's a great ship... helps as a stepping stone to the Cobra... quite useful multipurpose space minivan. :D

And sounds. It purrs. Going from sidey to cobra is like going from a 2CV to a Mercedes

I just traded my Eagle up to an Adder for light trading and exploration. I must say I'm growing quite attached to that goofy looking ship.
Has anyone else noticed the difference between the Adder hologram and the actual model? The winglets on the hologram come off the main wings at a very low angle but on the actual model, they appear to stand off the wings at something like 70-80 degrees. It's a minor detail but it's a real eye-twitcher for OCD pilots such as myself.

The winglets extend when you retract the gear, hang out at an outpost and watch an Adder take off.
