what are good cheap combat loadout for asp?

I know to max out combat loadout you need like 30 million but is there some inbetween? Good parts that do the job? what kind of ratings should I aim for?

You really can't go wrong with 2xC2 Fixed Pulse Lasers and 4xC1 gimballed Multicannons for bang for your buck.

what about internals though? for weapons I am running 4 beam lasers and 2 multicannons. I am thinking about putting C rating parts for internals like shields?

Get an A grade power distributor for more weapon, shield and engine juice first, its a relatively cheap part. A sensors as well to increase the accuracy of your gimballed weapons. The rest upgrade over time.

is rating C thrusters good enough for now? Or is D better?

IDK about the in-between prices, but go with 2xbeam/burst laser and 4xMC. Balance the rest as you like, for distance (D-type) if explorer, for example, or just go for A's if you feel like it (very, very expensive, and distance limiting due weight - but real good if you're more fighting type than explorer or pure trader).

Currently making decent money bounty hunting in my MKIII, is the Asp a decent combat boat? I love the lakon wide view windows and am thinking about getting one!

yes turn speeds are like the cobra and it has more power for weapons. but beware, repairs costs are high so a good shield is a must for me and insurance is around 300k default and around 400k with some decent upgrades, around 500-600k maxed out.

Well, my ASP insurance is 840k and and im on a "discount" insurance, so... It is quite expensive. But also the most awesome ship i have flown so far. And the view! Only the Imperial Clipper has better view...

Wait, wait, better sensors make your gimballed weapons more accurate? Why did I never hear about this before?

C's are in the sweet spot for money versus performance. But always get the best power distro you can afford.

Also, did you hear, that better sensors make avoiding and interdicting easier?

Love that stuff, you can only be good at the game if you do your research. If you ignore it and just go pew pew pew, you will suck forever...

I never had any trouble interdicting or avoiding interdictions so far, but... I honestly mean no offense, but I'm not sure whether you're telling me something I didn't know yet or making fun of me. Why would sensors make avoiding interdictions easier? That doesn't seem to make any sense whatsoever.

Are either of these actually true or just myths? I have seen them both stated a lot around the forums but never seen any evidence or a statement by the devs to confirm either of these.

With my ~16m asp :

Repair after being damaged by an interdiction : 20k
Repair with hull at 40% : 150k
Insurance : ~560k

It's an expensive ship to run, you need to be very careful to make money with it when it's not fully upgraded (because it's not hard to die).

I filled all my hard points with missile systems, 6 batteries all total. I call it the missile barge and it is taking down victims with ease.
