lost ship, how do I get it back?

Hi, I lost my cargo ship, I have another spare (smaller fighter) How do I get the old one back? I dont have enough credits, I saw something about a loan, where is it?
Atm im stuck and cant re buy the old one, thanks

If you couldnt pay the insurance cost you lost it as far as I know.

Always keep enough money for the insurance.

The loan amount is pretty limited, like 200k I think? Someone correct me if Im wrong on that number, Ive never flown anything I couldnt cover the insurance on, seems crazy to me.

Sorry OP, your ship is gone. The way you get it back is you go and make the money again to buy a new one, except next time make sure you can afford the insurance before you start flying it around.

Esepcially if you're planning on doing anything dangerous, like trying to run from pirates without any shields.

server jumped me on to a base on the rear end, death was instantaneous, 3rd time its happened, only this time I hit it with out a chance of turning in time :(

Never heard of that happen to anyone before.
Perhaps log a ticket? Provide detailed explanation as to what happened so it can be attempted to be reproduced

Been here since PB and never had that !!! you are unlucky !
I approach a station then before coming out of cruise mode I make sure the planet is behind me, not only you never hit a station, but the station slot will always be in front of you.

I have a Type 7 and the Insurance on it is 935,000 cr. The insurance is based on type of ship and what systems you have installed. I.E.. Class A or E etc..

Collision: I had the same thing happen this morning, came out of super cruise and right by the side of the Starport, I was so close I could see the whites of their eyes. It was by sheer luck that I didn't collide with it. Hopefully the entrance comment holds true, I will be checking that one out most definitely.

Its one of the ocellus star ports, twice I have jumped in right on top of the ring behind the entrance, once on the rear end of the starport I just had time to turn about .5km away. This time I didnt make it and hit the rear end instant death :(

I have had a couple times in Beta, Gamma, and Release where the Ocellus starport appeared much too close and gave me a jolt to see it come so close. If you remember where you were, you could try ticketing it. It sounds like maybe the station doesn't know how big it is and the drop in point can be made too close.

Thanks for info, im not the only one, il put in a ticket

Old old bug from early alpha.

It was fixed, I never had it happen to me after that.

Definitely worth a ticket.

sent a ticket I wrote this, also commented on entering a star system and colliding with it on entry :-

This is the 3rd time its happened Its one of the ocellus star ports, twice I have jumped in right on top of the ring behind the entrance, once on the rear end of the starport I just had time to turn about .5km away.

This time I jumped in and warped into the rear end of the station this time I was too close to turn, I hit the station and was killed, never had the chance to turn.
in Sol system around Earth, cant remember the station, either Abram Lincoln or mg.

Also entering a star system. Why has it been coded to jump right infront of a/the star? wouldnt it been better to jump in above or below so we donot have to do an emergency turn?

As for it being an old alpha bug that was rectified in alpha, this is incorrect.

This was also an issue after they reduced the jump in to a station instance from 20km to 10km.
As stations are almost always facing the planet, the direction you approach from in supercruise is the side you will materialise on. Some of the bigger orbis stations are longer than 10km and you can materialise inside them if approaching from the rear. Used to be a common problem in the premium and standard betas I believe.

Tony wants to know how to get his 200k loan. I haven't seen it but surely it would be on the re-buy ship page else where?
I do wish there wasn't this elitist attitude of "if you can't afford the unsurance you shouldn't fly it" responce. The 'game' does NOT tell what the insurance will cost when you are looking to buy it! ONLY after you have bought it without a test-drive you get to find out you must trade safe to save up for it!!!

The star thing is both a matter of lore and a non-issue - A non-issue because you zero your throttle as soon as the FSD charge countdown starts, you will emerge at 30km/sec which gives you more than enough time before you're in danger - with most stars (other than the hotter and smaller white ones, or neutron stars) you have several minutes before you need to turn. A matter of lore because your jump is targeted on the most massive body in the system. You arrive on the line between the centers of the most massive body in the system you left and the most massive body in the system you are arriving in. If you were to turn 180 degrees you should be able to pick up the system you came from directly behind you

...As stations are almost always facing the planet...

This has been confirmed by the devs on several occasions to be untrue. Stations are not tidally locked to the bodies they orbit. If it's facing the planet now, half an orbit later it will be facing away.
