How long have you lasted without dying?

I think the last time I died was a few days ago when I dropped into a High Intensity Conflict Zone and a large ship decided to use my Cobra as a speed bump before I could even choose sides.

Just started playing at launch.

No deaths whatsoever till tonight. My trusty freagle and have been trundling through the galaxy with no issues. Then I enter a random Anarchy system and get interdicted by an Adder. With railguns and a missile launcher.

Well then. Respawn with the freagle and immediately jump to another random system. "Oh hey there's a cobra--"

Interdicted. Missile drops me to 15% hull instantly. Kaboom.

No deaths until tonight, then you get two of them?

Never til the other nite when two Cmdr's were wolf packing me, took them 4 interdicts to finally drop me, But sorry lad's went down with the rare cargo, cost me stuff all and less than 100K to get my Cobra back... Chump change for my death (Finally had some use for some of my credits). But was fun being constantly hunted, I love open gameplay (I do also play some group in Mobius), Fear of danger from other players is fun :)

Look forward to more fun in open, and hope many more might actually give it a go, it is fun and at times heart racing fun!!!

since Gamma 2 release... so... 18 days?

been in an adder since then... I have too many reasons to keep living now. I HAVE to find out what this thing's limits are....
Bought and sold a Cobra already, intending to warehouse the Adder for a stretch... NOPE... sold the Cobra promptly and went straight back to my sweet "Blue Blur". She runs Cold, quiet, and is quick on her feet when the "blades" come out. (edit: she is worth, a pretty, ~1,600,000CR on trade-in value.)

I'm gonna see if I can make the hull last another 3-4 weeks without replacement. Overhaul, yes, but I do not intend on letting this boat go down with me at the helm. Ever.

Started playing since launch day. Only time have died is because I ran into something when I was not use to the controls.

Got in to a dogfight right first day while checking out the combat system in the starter sidewinder. Was doing well then all of the sudden other ships jumped into the system area. Great more pirates that came to help their friend. Needless to say the my shields failed almost instantly. I kept getting shoot going head on trying to land the kill shot on my original target.

Well taking that many shots to the face something happened I was unaware of, My canopy shattered! Unable to target and lossing oxygen I retracted my weapons, shifted to full trottle, screw shields full power to engines I have this timer that popped up that said 4:47 oxygen left.... Find the nearest station on my nav map and set course.

Arrive at my destination with about a 30 seconds left and still had to get my ship into the station and repaired before I died. I made it past the entrance of the station at about 9 seconds left. Luckily to find out all I need to do was enter air-lock to live.

Hardest part of that survival story was lining up Super cruise destination with a window that has been shattered.

Now after that epic survival story. I said lets just dump all my credits into trading. So I went ahead and bought a hauler loaded it up. go to launch out of the docking station.

*splat*
ran into an inbound Orca taking up the whole entrance and not staying in his lane....

Haven't died since then but now that I have a type 6 lakon I have almost had the same thing happen several times. Please stay in your lanes!
Wow, that would have been amazing surviving the canopy break like that! But yeah that sucks dying by crashing into another ship, especially when you're not even in a dogfight.

Once in beta 1 and once recently. The first one because I couldn't dock yet. I was a n00b ;) The last time I wasn't paying attention because I was reading Facebook on my phone and I burned up after arriving at the Sun. :D
Just 1 insurance request.

Ha! One of my fears is that I'm going to die while looking for something in my navigation chart...

Haven't crashed/blown up etc since the Gamma wipe (Gamma 1.00).

But.. for some reason... yesterday I crashed twice... :p

I only die because of my own stupidity boosting/crashing into things, not warping out from a fight when I should. Game is pretty easy at the moment.

Since playing seriously I died three times
1. another player killed me (unarmed+no cargo) for fun. Weeks ago.
2. NPC ship not obeying lanes rammed me at a space port entrance, last week.
3. Cobra exploded for no reason after clicking 'launch', yesterday

Haven't died since the Betas. Seem to recall that one was a CMDR who took advantage of my target fixation on a NPC at the Eranin Federal Distress scenario. His viper made mighty short work of my cobra.

Three days. I spent a few days traveling in unexplored systems and happened to be lucky enough not to run into ANYTHING particularly dangerous. I'll swear up and down I'm a competent pilot, but I've crashed into stations enough times to know that's not entirely true.

This thread makes me wonder why theres still countless requests to nerf and reduce the danger and consequences. Its pretty puzzling.

I think it's the same issue behind asking for a star type filter in galaxy map. Players beg to have the most benefit with the least risk, even though if it happened that way, they'd complain about the game being too easy and boring.

I think it is related to min/maxing in an rpg, in a way.

Anything to increase credit per minute ratio I think.

I believe for me, it was about 2 mins or something...

This is one of the reasons why I love this game so much. For us new folk, the galaxy is a dangerous, violent, angry place. Don't believe me? I dare you to go to Hip 19147. Don't worry, it has repair and refueling stations.

It is kind of upsetting. I don't mind it when folks focus on raising Cr/min, but come on, think about how it will affect the entertainment value. Yeah, it'd be nice to be able to get an Anaconda within the first day of playing, but if that's what your goal is, you end up having only a few hours of gameplay, and in the end it won't feel like you got your money's worth.
Q.Q etc.

I have died 2 times since release, funnly enough both times it was because of crashing into an imperial clipper.
