How long have you lasted without dying?

I have died 2 times since release, funnly enough both times it was because of crashing into an imperial clipper.

That reminds me of one time while trying to leave a spaceport, I had to stop and wait for a Federation Dropship. After it passed by, I went to leave (in my Cobra) and juuust barely after getting past the door, I realize there's a Type-9 NPC idling just close enough that I can't get out. I went to back up to wait for it, and get the 30 second trespassing warning. 20 seconds later, it only just started inching forward. I ended up blowing myself up trying to squeeze past in a panic.

The AI gets freaky when trying to land.

4 times since gamma and all 4 times due to being rammed by an almost dead elite anaconda - get them to 5% hull and they seem to want to go down in a blaze of glory with me being the blaze

I've lost so much exploration data from deciding to fight enemy pirates the same size as me. It's gotten to where if they aren't in a sidewinder or eagle, I just FSD out.

Haven't died since i got the game. I'm very cautious though, and only have one kill in that time (and several run-aways...)

This is my first Elite game and I've played for a couple weeks now and haven't died once. Is that normal or am I just that awesome? Seriously though, how long have you lasted without dying and do you get any recognition for it in your stats? I have really not come close to dying yet, but I have had some moments where instead of fighting, I fled because I knew I was outmatched.

Twice so far.

The "when dropping to a USS never boost immediately, there might be a T9 showing it's belly" incident

and being interdicted while in the gravity well between two stars in a underpowered T6. I got into SC, however with a system heat of 350C+, beyond the warranty levels I believe.

Died three times. Once, foolishly ran out of fuel, thinking the distress beacon was still in game (so much outdated info floating around about this game!) the other two times involved accidentally boosting inside stations.

When I started playing (Gamma) I died one time because I didn't know how to manage my heat level near a star. Now I know not to activate Super Cruise or Hyperspace when heat level is too high.

In any other situation I haven't been even close to dying yet. Not even when destroying dozens of pirate ships (including an Anaconda) near Nav Points. And I'm just flying an Eagle.

Yesterday I was soo happy with my brandnew ASP, bountyhunting between the riods. Nice view...looking up too my target with the DK2 while ramming an anstroid at full speed.

It's probably best they include an ESCAPE CAPSULE cut scene so that you learn you ........................ NEVER DIE IN ELITE.
This fact helps you mentally adjust to losing ships. But I fear for the future of travel of "ah its ok I crashed, I got another life" attitude (mind my ****ing paint!)

Twice since release: one random ramming by an NPC (common in Beta, but it still happens) and once when I messed up a fast silent run into a station and smeared myself all over the walls. My combat skills have improved so I haven't been killed in combat for a while and I have the distinct impressions the NPCs are not putting up much of a fight.

Died once....stripped my sidewinder to add more cargo space; while in Beta 1, was happily driving out of Azeban; but the joystick disconnected from the throttle...went straight on the wall of the exit, while trying to hook up the joystick again.
Lost the sidewinder and 20something K in cargo; another smarter one would stop the ship, instead than try to hook up the joystick LOL.

Beside that accident, I believe I was never killed by anyone, since Beta :) Got barely alive from many fights; in few cases with 10% hull left and broken canopy :)

I do not like the fight for no reason; I do not attack anyone unless they are wanted and I feel confident that I can take care of it. I believe no human player ever engaged me (or maybe yes? Had a fight against 2 pilots at a comm probe place in a system, and one of them messaged me saying something; I believe that was not an AI, because the message arrived after that I destroyed the ships); altho I believe it is just a matter of time :)

Haven't died but have been at 1% hull with a shattered canopy after I pulled a fellow cobra pilot over for a K scan ( he was clean). He told me that interdiction was aggression and promptly opened up on me. Now with a bounty on him I decided to engage in my first ever act of PVP and although I killed him, I was left as close to death as you can be. Thank god for class A life support!
