Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

Things I have noticed recently are that doing missions for the Crimson State alone is not enough to get the highest influence or damage LFE. There is also the possibility of doing missions for LFE and then going to a USS and delivering the mission to someone else as stated by others on these forums. Both of these things seem to be beneficial to CSG (at least when the missions are doing what they are supposed to on return).

However, there is another major aspect at work here I believe we missed. Certain factions seem to be associated with certain industries or commodities in the stations. You will notice that specific factions often ask you to collect a particular good like coffee for example very often. LFE seem to be growing without much hinderence from us. I believe this to be the case because their actual influence on the system is not being challenged. In other words, we should be doing missions from other systems that are delivering to the Lugh system. LFE have a stranglehold on specific trade channels. When we introduce other factions from outside to compete with their business it reduces their influence on Lugh because they are not the only sole supplier bringing these goods into the system. All the other things like lockdown, civil unrest and famine are triggers that set off a civil war but first we need to have a majority but to do that we need to be doing CSG missions to raise our profile. Then, when arriving in an outer system we need to be taking missions from outside that are delivering to the Lugh system but that do not deliver to LFE.

Check these missions and make sure they are not being delivered to LFE. This I believe will reduce their stranglehold.

You will also notice that there are different kinds of missions in the game. Delivery missions effect influence but there are others like fueling the flames of war which may have the effect of creating civil unrest. We need to identify which missions do this from the other types of missions. I would guess that each type of mission has a function in this process and knowing which buttons to press and when are key.

I have been doing similar work exploring the construct and how to manipulate it. The most troubling problem seems to be a lack of context so far as what our actions produce when working with the missions. It would be really great if the news we see in the station reflected our actions and their effects, but that would be a tall order. For the moment it seems we're stuck with pure guesswork. It's hardly an optimum situation and it hardly feels finished as a game feature. Hopefully they will add a little more information for us to go on in the future. Working with it now is simply frustrating. Two steps forward one step back.

Our current position is as follows:

Crimson State Group 48.3%
Lugh for Equality 45.2%
Dominion of Lugh 0%
Lugh Defence Force 5%
Silver Natural 0%

We also have Pending state civil war!

-Keep bringing in personal weapons and booze and selling them at Crimson State Group controlled stations.
-Choose Perunario Orbital as the main station to do CSG missions from.
-Fuel the arts of war missions and all military based missions should be the mainstay of missions we do now. We are trying to push civil unrest and Lock-down up in the opposition controlled stations.
- Keep trading th eabove commodities with our own stations.

Yes. I am starting to believe that trading with our own stations does indeed push influence in the system. Missions are more a way to push buttons. I suspect that if you only traded goods and did no missions at all in your own stations that you would see influence still rise.

Doing the missions of different types have either a calming effect or a war inducing effect. At this stage I think we just need to push the correct butons to a start war.

Military missions
Black Box missions
Rebel transmissions
Fuel the flames of war

I suspect that these missions are ones the spark unrest.

There are other missions that have calming effects like bringing food and supplies etc. I think we need to stop doing these to create tension. We need to decide quickly what missions need doing and which ones we should not be doing.

Make sure and read my posts above and act accordingly. We need you to be doing the right things, otherwise you will actually hurting our efforts.

The 'find Military Plans' mission lowers civil unrest for CSG... I'm not very good at this revolutionary work...

Ok, so we need to pinpoint which missions raise civil unrest. Keep experimenting and when we nail it we will do only those.

Maybe I've missed something, but didn't Balandin use to belong to the Fed faction? It now says Crimson State Group in my game...

Yep, this happened a couple days ago. It kind of reignited everything and got us excited about the project again.

There are plenty of us here who never stopped! Well done to all who have been involved putting in some real time here. Even when some others had left and for all those who dug their heels in and helped (you know who you all are) refused to give up even when we had hit 37% :) We could not have gotten this far without you!

Still, we are not there yet. We still have to get this war to start so there is much to do. Lugh is a big system with a large population. It is a tough nut to crack.

Seriously though, good to have as many back on board as possible! The more people we have working toward the goal the sooner we will get it done. I do ask everyone to read back on the recent posts though and make sure you are doing exactly what we are doing. It is important everyone is doing the same. It is the only way we know we are doing it right or wrong!

Again, thanks everyone!

Lugh's star is rising again! Lets crush LFE!

Covert operations missions seem to be beneficial. especially those that bring in weapons.
Although it is obvious the Devs have been working on broken mission rewards over the holidays (seriously guys, you deserve a lot of praise for this) there are still some broken ones cropping up now and again. This is one such broken mission requiring me to obtain weapons for CSGin the Cavendish Ring station.

These missions usually increase lockdown with a red arrow going up but for some reason this is reducing famine? This can't be right can it?

Covert help is usually giving them stuff for free right? In my experience giving stuff for free always reduces famine, no idea why, maybe they are eating the guns?
