1.5 MILLION BOUNTY for extraordinary trade information!!!!

It depends on how he gets rid of it. If he chooses abandon from the cargo hold it doesnt show up as stolen when you pick it up.

I imagine his offer was not aimed at established traders with large vessels, but rather at beginner players with small ships that may have happened across a lucrative trade route that they are not yet in a position to take advantage of.

This people. I understand that those of you in huge expensive ships like my asp wont be interested. :D

But if all you have is a mere cobra or hauler or adder with not a lot of hours to play, then this will be a nice boost that will save you many hours of mind number back-and-forth trading. :)

And, yes, you can jettison cargo (abandon) so that it won't end up stolen.

And......I will probably meet you in a (decently kitted out) cobra so I won't scare you with my nice shiny asp. :D

Why would I give you my best trading route when I can earn over 1.5m in 30 mins by using it myself....??

Because you're not the target audience. :D

And if you seriously make 3m an hour, would you be interested any ANYTHING I offered? I think you'd make more money trading than in the amount of time it takes to scoop up 400 tons of cargo, even if it was PLATINUM. :D

or maybe he's a Pirate! and just wants to find you on a lucrative run!

I'd make more money trading than the amount of time and trouble and bounty inconvenience to try to get at your cargo. If I wanted to pirate, I could head to groombridge 1618 or any number of other places near duamta and go pirating for some nice beryllium. :D

Buy a cargo scanner, a wake shift scanner and go hunting for Type 9 human players.
They are the guys who know where all of those high paying trade runs are.
They never answer hails either :).

And when people say 3k trade run.... Are they saying 1.5k profit per unit each way, or 3k both ways?

Just to clarify. A round trip is two runs, are you asking for 3k/tonne over one or two trips?

2 trips, although if you know of any place where I can make 3k in a SINGLE one way trip, even if the destination had nothing but toxic waste for enough profit to pay for fuel expenses on the way back, I'd still be interested.

If they are a type 9 player, I wouldn't care what they were carrying. But you my friend just gave me a reason to buy a wake shift scanner while I trot about the galaxy trading (or anything else). :D

Then again, just the KNOWN galaxy is so dang big, and the game so young, that at this point, finding type 9 traders are like finding unicorns. xD

And yes, 3k both ways. I could care less if I could make 2k one way and .2k the other. I can find better trade routes.

I feel a little bit better now knowing that my 2.3k/tonne 17lyr RT run isn't that bad !

Nope it's quite good. IMO.

It's good even if one end is an outpost. If both ends are stations it's very good. IMO

I've accumulated about 20 hours of searching a good route. Couldn't find anything better than a three jump 1.3k/ton each way with one end being mid size pop :-/. I mostly try to locate high pop high tech stations and then try to find a good matching refinery or extraction in it's vicinity. Is there a better approach? What do YOU guys with that great routes look for?

Vandalizing a database for your petty little pennies.
You got a special place in hell I assure you.

Heh, I never said I would do it, I was just giving some advice. THEY would be doing the vandalizing if they wanted to protect their "precious secret" (and a 3k trade route isn't that easy to find). :p

Besides, if I thought of it, and given the protectiveness some people are of their "special trade route", I'm sure it's happened many times before. It's the downside of using crowd-sourced info. :p

That's pretty much what I look for too. Palladium, gold, superconductors<>Progenitor cells or performance enhancers.

EDIT: Also I look for these places near the edges of settled space, to lessen the impact from other traders, both NPC and player.

A reliable 1.3k/t each way is keeper IMO. Especially if both ends are stations so you can use the big boys.

I'd really rather you didn't encourage people to mess with the trade data like that. That's a pretty silly thing to post. More so as we've been chatting by email today.

uhm... im doing 420k / trip - 2 jumps (10 mins) apart in a T7 .... its not 3000cr/t but your 1.5mil wouldn't buy the info :)

Thanks for your answer. This reassures me that my methodology is not completely wrong. I guess you just need a bit of luck to hit a real jackpot. Will keep my eyes open and continue to grind the current route until I happen to stumble upon something better.
