[RELEASE] Slopey's BPC Market Tool! - New version!

I super love you Slopey! :) Is there a way to change the category on some commodity goods? Some station's commodity goods are marked perfectly for quick penciling in... others have items in wrong categories which slows the penciling in part a bit.

On a side note, I have noticed that many stations seemed to have been cleaned up where this used to be a bigger problem, now it's only in about a fourth of the stations I visit. :)

Cheers!

I noticed this on some of the commods nearer the starting area. Seems like stuff that was entered in beta/launch have been oddly categorized. Specifically Beer/liquor/wine Listed ingame as Legal Drugs but in bpc for some stations just listed as Drugs (thus moving it up the list when updating grid. Then theres Silver, Palladium , Platinum and Cobalt Listed as Minerals but they are Metals. Same issue. I posted about this back on like page 70 or so. notably when entering new data (add/update prices, Not grid) They always come up fine.

Yes This! :) Fixing this will make penciling in new data smooth as butter! :D

Which ones are out and I'll correct them. I though I had most of them done but do note they're stored against entries so if you have historical data, they won't be updated necessarily, but i can add a button to do it.

Hi Slopey,

sry for asking this question is it a bug or my failure?

I try to upload data exported from Elite OCR.csv file and get the error Wrong System : The System Value in the BPC does not match the System set in the BPC!

sry did got the point of the error message the csv for sure has the same System Name which is in the dialog screen for upload.

does anybody has a hint for me?

Does the system exist in the BPC? Does the station? If not you'll need to type the station in. You'll also need to be there remember if the BPC knows where you are.

V4.2.1.0 is now available...

In this version:

- Much much faster parsing!!!
- Settings are now saved in the database, and work properly (hopefully!)
- Added flexibility on the Auto-Update period from Options
- Options screen is now tabbed
- Added a new About screen
- Timestamps removed on the BPC results grid and replaced with aged minutes
- Fixed the colour coding on aged minutes
- Added Auto-Delete for aged data on startup (see Database Options in Options)
- Added function to delete data over a certain age manually (see Database Options in Options - may require a one-shot timestamp check for data prior to 4.2.1.0)
- Commodity filter on the BPC now works properly (whoops!)
- Right clicking on results in the BPC grid allows you to set the From/To systems to those values

Enjoy! You can get it via an auto-update, or from here: http://www.slopey.com/ED/BPC.exe (I've updated the OP).

Yes, yes, yes - as per a few updates ago, it's temporarily disabled. It'll be back shortly. Meantime, you can right click on a result, use that to set the From/To to the same as the result, and Swap to get the best return.

As you're aware, I found them - I had to trawl through each entry as it doesn't show your email addy where your forum name was referenced so they're tricky to tie back from just a glance.

I've also added a note to the options page in the next version to point out that by default, I don't acknowledge them, but I'll try and set a message on Paypal to that effect.

However, it's very much appreciated, and thank you.

as your aware i msg you 2 weeks ago about the weird paypal activity and you didn't respond. i waited 2weeks before i made a trip to my bank (not local and not easy for someone as disabled as me) to resolve this simple issue a yes it went through would have resolved this yet you ignored me.

and NO i didnt need a thanks, but its common courtesy.

in the 20yrs or so ive donated anything ive always recieved a thanks or acknowledgement from every donation ive ever made youre the first to not to.

so dont call me rude.

If you want, I'll refund them to you and we can draw a line under it?

yea like im gonna take money back from a charity.

your quick to try and defend ya actions, your charity is more than welcome to it and will probably receive more.

just STOP trying to make me out to be the bad one here - and re the paypal name and NOTONES appears in my paypal name so it would have been easy for you to check this 2 weeks ago like i asked in the PM

Actually your paypal payment appears as your proper name, not NOTONES. The only place I've been able to find "notones" is in your email address in the narrative of the payment details, it is nowhere else.

But anyway, as per the text in the BPC I've never wanted donations, and I'm not really interested in a bunfight over a lack of acknowledgements which I don't make for donations.

I'm not defending any actions - I don't acknowledge any donations by default.

I've got better things to do than argue about this, so I'll refund the payments and that'll solve the problem.

Actually, I was referring to this post (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=76081&p=1453549&viewfull=1#post1453549), not the PM asking me to check it.

But anyway, the refunds are processed. You may want to check with Paypal why your payment name doesn't show up as you think it does, and please consider supporting MND in the future as it's a very worthy cause.

Now, back to BPC discussion.

I've checked it again and they're ok as far as I can tell - if you spot any odd ones (metals/minerals are the most likely candidates), let me know and I'll correct them.

I didn't manage to get the "recategorise all the entries" button into the DB options for 4.2.1.0 but I will add it if need be - it only affects historical data, so you can always use the "clear down" function in options to clear that historical stuff, and any newer updates should be ok.

I'll have more data management features in "soon", so you can tidy your data on the fly.

I only just picked up your PM today NoTones - no need to be rude. As a rule, I don't acknoweldge all the donations via paypal, aside from a few which I did to confirm they were correct. And anyway - you've told me they may not have even come through?!! How can I respond to something I've possibly not received correctly?

All donations are grateful received, and I've said so on many occasions, but I've not had any other people requesting I thank them personally every time.

Actually, I was referring to this post (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=76081&p=1453549&viewfull=1#post1453549), not the PM asking me to check it.
