I find sometimes when you down a Cobras shields they are still visble.
I've been wondering about this - I see it all the time, not just on Cobras.

My bug - killed wanted L9 and Anaconda in Nav zone in last two days - each had over 100k bounty; when I fired the last shots and they exploded, no bounty was awarded . . . (no blue message - just nothing); very upsetting, and expensive in ammo/repairs.
 
I have that "blue shield" glow too sometimes after I've taken a ship's shields down.

In 1.03 large bounties wouldn't give me a notification when I had taken down the ship. It would appear in my "transactions" tab as normal though.
 
Jump Drive navigation error

Version 1.04
System: Neto

All of a sudden, my Galaxy Map will no longer select any routes other than 'Economical'. I have a laden jump range of 19.6, been doing a route of three jumps for 44 LY for a while, then suddenly it's become more like 9 jumps.

I have tried checking and unchecking 'Fastest' routes option in the Galaxy Map tab, no effect. The routes shown are all the shortest possible hops.
 
Too many bugs. Uninstalled game and will wait about 6 months to re-install

Looks like a pretty nice game, but it needs more polish before I attempt to play it again.
Bug list for me:
1. Validation errors when upgrading patches
2. I can land easily and consistently in the docking tutorial. But when it comes to some stations, the docking doesnt always latch as easily. Or upward thrust doesnt work to allow you to re-try and you end up scraping around. Or slow downward thrust is messed up, eg. tap <down> makes ship go down slowly. tap <down> again and ship goes down slowly. tap <down> a third time and ship goes down very quickly and SLAM! onto the landing pad.
3. Trading. If a market states that a product is exported to a particular system and there is a demand for it, I fill my cargo, travel to that system, but there is only one station and it has no commodity market. Doh!
4. To get around these bugs in the interim, a Save/Load feature should be allowed.

These bugs make the game not very enjoyable for me.
I'm happy to give it some time to mature.
 
Since last patch/upgrade I have been dealing with a blue screen when game loads. Finally discovered the resolution has defaulted to 4073 x 815. After changing in options, graphics, I can play, but will revert at next startup, causing blue screen again. Getting old fast.
 
intredicted while in SC and timer to jump

Hi

Yestarday i was in SC, went to galaxy map, choose a system to jump and started the jump.
While the jump was charging, i was intredicted. I made a choice to submitt. The result was to stay in intrediction visual effects for several minutes w/o been able to do anything. Both the jump and the intrediction didn't work.

The same time that i went to zero throtle to submitt, the charge for the jump was "full".

When i pressed esc, i saved and went to main menu, where i choose to continue the game and everything was working fine.

When I read the 1.04 patch notes I thought you might have fixed the text on this item, since it's so easy to spot.

All class II gas giant planets have a class III description in the System Map.
 
hi ran into this bug a few times so far at just this one station.

Using AUTODOCKING on a ASP when it goes to land on a certain pad it just sits and bounces around on the pad and never docks just keeps bouncing. only way to stop this without dying is to save and exit to menu and then reload game.

Problem:

System is: ALTAIR
Station is: SOLO ORBITOR
Pad number is: 41
Ship Flying is: ASP
Resulting Bug is: Ship never "Docks" it just bounces around and if you cancel dock you get shot by station so only way to get around bug is to save and quit and then reload.

Thx so much for making this game been a fan since very first release and this version is fantastic, great job.

Reputation bug

Turned in a mission with positive Empire rep. The mission result screen said that my rep with Empire had just become Friendly. A few minutes later, after outfitting and other basic starport tasks, I took a look at my rep status screen. I am now Unfriendly with the Empire and all the Empire factions at the starport. I did nothing that might possibly affect rep during this time.

I turned in a ticket 00000022032 and it hasn't been touched in 5 days.

was just wandering did the system change allegience or anything like that? Have you got any bounty's outstanding?

I have noted the following minur bug:
If you want to jetison cargo while your cargo bay is open, pressing the jetison cargo button will do the following:

Close cargo bay -> jetison cargo -> open cargo bay.


This is a minor bug, but still it will be nice to have it solved (ie. first check if cargo bay is open or closed. If open -> just jetison cargo; else open cargo bay -> jestison cargo - > close cargo bay).

I've been noticing heaps of bounties not getting recorded properly, both in Anarchy and Federation space (where I do most of my bounty hunting) that don't get recorded correctly. Things like 10,000+ credit bounties that I definitely don't miss when checking my transaction tab (which I do after just about every kill), so it's definitely not just me losing track of bounties. When I kill someone with a 12k bounty, I get the confirmation in my INFO Panel, and nothing shows up in my transaction log, something is definitely wrong.

Bounty hunting is a slow enough source of income as it is, we don't need the game stealing our hard-won bounties.

I have to say; I think you should show your examples with the HUD in the standard 'orange'. Your observation may indeed be the color problem your suggesting; but FD has said it wasn't (ready) to release the HUD color changing feature yet...

I've noticed, when I change my HUD colors; some combinations make the stars in the galaxy shift their appearance spectrum. I think you should examine this.

Doesn't make any difference.

Here's two more screenshots with the default HUD. The first one shows the tinted lighting from the star within the very small "bubble" of space where it normally works as it should. The second shows the neutral light that you get from the same star if you fly just a minor distance away. This illustrates the issue quite nicely I think.

The lighting tint should be diffused (become less intense) slowly as one travels further away from the star, not abruptly like this. And star light should become neutral-colored only when the star is far enough away to be just a speck in the distance, if even then. For systems with multiple stars close to each other, light on objects should be mixed realistically instead of only the nearest star producing the light. All these little things would greatly improve the immersion I think.

- shot an anaconda and it left over a massic pill of debris. I shot in that pill and the audio stopped and the graphics dropped to partly frozzen pictures. Then tried to exit the game and it deadlocked on exit.
 
More minor bugs (v1.04):

- The "music" (tracks of comm chatter and such) played on the commodities and universal cartographics screens in starports sometimes stutter or become caught in a loop (play the same part repeatedly). May be caused by alt-tabbing out of the game (but I'm playing in borderless windowed for a reason, alt-tab should work without issues).

- Also, the same "music" cannot be switched off (except by muting all music completely with the "Music mute" setting). Switching "Starport music" to OFF in audio options does not remove the above tracks on the commodities and cartographics screens.

- Sometimes the galnews feed in starports looks like this:

It's briefly fixed by exiting-reopening the "starport services", but then may reappear again soon after exiting some other screen (commodities for instance). If this is caused by a server request timeout, may I suggest showing the latest results from a local cache?

- Some station commodity markets allow open buying/selling of goods marked as prohibited in the system map notes. Last one spotted for example was Santos Prospect in the Ghimr system - can buy/sell Narcotics, Tobacco and other stuff that's supposed to be illegal.

The exploration-bug with scanning audio repeating in an endless loop while scanning asteroids is still happening, by the way. Detailed information still under Ticket #00000014796, if you want to take a look.

Also a new bug happened: When logging in today, the UI of the Starport services suddenly locked up and refused to take any input. Testing revealed my controls worked in the galaxy and system maps, so the issue seems to be connected to the Starport UI.

Since I couldn't leave the locked up screen except for looking at the map and other UI-windows, I logged out and restarted the game. This fixed the issue for now but I made a ticket just in case.

Empire Rank progression Missions demanding illegal activities

Got my first ones and was surprised that they asked me to perform smuggling for them (??)
I was tasked to aquire Combat Stabiliziers or Personal Weapons - both being prohibited inside most Empire Systems and of course the very Stations I got these Missions offered.

Additionally, there was no marking "Activity considered Illegal".

For Players unaware of this, this can and will cause them
- getting scanned, fined & destroyed trying to fulfill these Missions
- ironically downright destroy the Reputation with exactly those that they try to gain some with

Rank progression Missions should never ask the Player to perform a Task illegal within that same government - unless it is to imply that i.e. the Empire is actually some sort of Pirate/Smuggling Faction (which I hardly believe) and very lax on its own laws & regulations.

System Map data occasionally showing false/erroneus Details about Stellar Objects

- found some Systems where Class II Gas Giants were descibed as Class III Gas Giants.
- found some Stations around Planets with a semi-major axis of supposedly 2.5AU (which should mean something less than 1000Ls to travel) - only to find them >200000Ls away actually
- found some Planets very close to hot stars with far lower Temperature than significantly more distant planets (?)
- found some Planets (alone, not paired in orbit with another) which semi-major axis read plain 0.00 AU

Some Trade Data still false (Stations not selling at all while live & current Trade Data purchased indicating they would)

Indicated as selling Combat Stabilizers.

System Map indicates this Commodity is prohibited (correct).
Going there to check it out reveals - Commodity doesn't exist (System Map was correct, is prohibited)
Going to check inside the System those are supposedly exported to, those existed indeed and were in Demand, indicated as "Imported From" the System noted above.
Result : Commodity is actually nowhere to be found within 200LY (checked with external Trade tools), respective delivery Missions failed, typical Players relying only on in-game data stand no chance to aquire these

Shield Cell bank counts still often don't display in Cockpit HUD

Still the same, sometimes they show, sometimes they don't.
Seems it even got a bit worse, as they sometimes don't seem to display at all over long times of playing (observed in Type-9, Python, Cobra)...

Duh! Found out today that these seem to need to be bound to Fire Group in order to Display.
So as I rarely have one of the precious 2 Fire Groups available and the Control Setup allows for a direct Keybind I use instead - apparently that is the reason I hardly ever see them.
Would be nice if they showed up nonetheless (i.e. only if manually assigned to a Keybind, as not to confuse Players that use them exclusively via Fire Groups)

Minor Feature request / suggestion

In order to facilitate Player activities and Situational Awareness, I'd sure like to be able to purchase (besides Trade/Cartography Data) Traffic and Crime Data Systems around my location.

This would allow me to get an overview about
- how busy my playing neighbourhood is (which I may seek or avoid, depending on my playing style and goals)
- how dangerous the area surrounding my current location is (extremely useful for Traders, Miners or Players that simply want to avoid PvP trouble).

Information displayed on the System map should visualize current and up-to-date information.

I'd sure would very much like to get an overview about crime rates and traffic inside my local area :)
