I make a habit of not paying for minor additional stuff, but I would pay for this.
I would like to see things that don't look like the Cobra and it's offsprings or things that don't look like basic geometric shapes.

If you're regarding Thargoids... I think that would be "speciesist" ... Although, who is to say that Thargoids aren't just humans from 50,000 years from now? (or 50,000 years ago!?) (OooOOOOOOOoOooOooooooooo Spooky UO Ghost)
I'm in the "Both" camps. What I *would* say is - when the Devs re-vamp Snake-class boat names, please at least leave the general planform something like the original. The Adder doesn't really look like an Adder - yes, I know. It was all of eight polygons including the flat front window. But it had A Shape. The new Adder is like a Hauler in a tutu.
The Sidey, the Cobby, even the Viper with it's jowly little engine pods - all of them are managing to Hark Back to the Snakes of Yore in their design. And let's be honest... the new Cobby is sexy as all hell. Love her. Love her to bits and pieces.
New ships, yes, yes, yes. Drown us in ships. Let obsessive-compulsives like me fly them all until I drown in my own drool. But if you're calling up an old name, do what you did with the Cobra Mk III.

Where's the option for "newer model of classic ships"? Eg Cobra MK IV or Python MK II etc.
Then the Devs can go crazy making them sleeker, shinier, put more engines on it etc and the outcry won't be as huge as the one for the Adder
Yup - this. I'd like to see a Cobra MKIV. back in the early years of high school, I used to draw my idea of what a Cobra MKIV would look like when I finished my test papers, but still had to sit around and wait for everyone else.

Why do the ships have to be streamlined and sleek? I mean apart from making them aesthetically pleasing to the eye, there is no other reason. Space is a vacuum with no friction of resistance, so the ships could be any shape, a flying cube, 'Borg' style, for instance.
I'd like to see the Liberator from Blake's Seven, the 84'ers will know the ship, you young'uns will have to google it.
