What do you do when another player turns up in your home system?

Do missions really disappear when someone else takes them? PLayed with a friend, and we could take the same missions, no problem, even with a minute or so delay. Could of course be a sync problem.
How does the mission generator work? If you can really run out of them, wouldn't the start systems be void of missions?

Also, to the OP: Space isn't big enough for your... behind? :D No offense, but don't understand why you don't play solo if you are allergic to other people.
Me personally am quite happy when I find someone to talk to, being quite the chatty guy.

Home system, pfft. Home is where I park when I log off. Just keep flying and exploring.

And a friendly Good Day Cmdr never goes amiss, not that anyone has ever replied!

I always think of StarCraft when I say "good day cmdr" to other pilots

I just say hello and ask what they are doing to pass the time of day. No response usually means they are hostile and need to be killed before they kill me.

....I throw them a "I don't see many cmdrs out here....I was getting kinda hungry...ha...mwuha....mwuhahahahahahahahahahhhhhhhaaaaaaa (stomach growl right before deploying hardpoints)" line...

There, fixed it for you (if the intent was to have them respect your personal space) :)

I said nothing, since my home system were barely visited for a long time. Lately there has been more and more people in my home system and its surroundings. Even though it's a pretty excentred zone, its trade routes are great, so I knew it was only a matter of time before it happened. I gave the route once to someone, I don't know if he shared it or not. I don't mind. As long a nobody attacks me or begins to play pirate in the zone, it's all fine. My unshieldeld asp was destroyed by a cmdr in a Python, this afternoon. He rammed me while I was getting out of the letterbox. He maneuvered pretty bad, and I lost a little less than 2 millions. I wish he would have at least say a little "sorry", but nothing. Meh, that's life.

How about Γ0Γ when you're dancing to Walk Like an Eygptian by the Bangles?

I spy an original elite player!

why are you flying unshieled in an Asp? I can carry 88 tons with full shields, anymore is just being greedy. I like to bounce npc ships in the birdcage, they get all tangled up!

I would recommend to just say hello, then check there affiliation, and if they belong to the Empire or the Federation, your solution is then just a matter of time.

Didn't think I was territorial until they turned up. I'm about 100ly+ from anywhere interesting, since launch I have only seen 4 other cmdr's pass though the area (I have their names in a list).

100ly isn't anything. That's 5 to 10 jumps. Rare good traders go 160ly one leg. So if you really really want to have a system your own than you have to go far far further out. But I don't know if there are still stations to find then. And the naming get flats. Not great to clal a HIP 74635 C 13-647 N 56 your home. :)

My advise try to get friendly with them and maybe move the system together. If you don't like that then wait a time and if they don't move than just move yourself.
I changed my "home" 4 or 5 times already not because of players but other reasons. It's always interesting to find new homes.
Release yourself from the bonding thoughts to want to "own" a territory.

Yep, greedy, that's me!

I can carry 128 with no shield. My asp is currently a specialised trader. My fighting ships are my eagle and cobra. Haven't had time to play much lately, so even in Gamma my income was null. Once I have enough money for a Type 7, I'll change my asp config. Until then...

No response usually means I just didn't notice, don't care to answer because when I received the message, it was a few seconds away from engaging hyperspace or I simply am not in the mood to talk at the moment.

I'll appreciate your efforts in trying to kill me over that, though :).

You'll inevitably succeed as I'm very bad at flying spaceships, but of course I'd be puzzled with the inexplicable hostility and create a thread about how you GREIFED me for no reason at all and call you a psychopath as it's customary on these forums :).

(I value tradition)

Until now, I just said hello or hailed the other cmdr friendly ... most cmdrs don't talk that much 😉

Thats a left handed salute. Should I be offended enough to attack you for some hidden meaning??? ;-)

Maybe its a 3rd person camera view salute?

I normally say Hi and ask if the skys are clear of pirates my reply normally is static "..."

I hailed one cmdr and said "I was in this restaurant and who should walk in but Han Solo!"
He replied "...and he said, watch the steak it's a little Chewie".
- I weed myself a little.

Old habits die hard I guess. If you are not blue kill on sight. Also while you are typing you are not trying to interdict me or shoot me, unless you have three hands or can type with your nose.
