I wish I could remember your full name, all I can recall is CMDR Mister and the rest I've forgotten. You interdicted me in Igar, wasting no time I submitted.

Upon dropping out of supercruise I promptly disengaged the thrusters and got on the intercom informing my Imperial Slave transports that everything will be alright. You contacted me demanding cargo or my life, but you did not perform a cargo scan. I replied to you with the following:

"Hold your fire! This ship is in full compliance with any demands that you may have. Upon satisfaction of your demands, please grant this ship safe passage. If requesting cargo to be jettisoned, please permit sufficient time to do so. Safe distance will be maintained until confirmation has been received from you on the aforementioned. Do you copy?"

You paused then repeated "Your cargo or your life".

I responded to you: "This ship only carries Imperial Slaves, how many tons would you like?"

You thought for a moment and calmly parked your ship in front my of cockpit. "About half should do me good" you said to me. And with that I said "OK Commander, one moment please." A few seconds later 50 tons of Imperial Slaves were jettisoned into the vaccuum of space, via cans, for you to take. You thanked me and said that I was free to go. With that I got on the intercom and told the remaining passengers to remain calm as I slowly engaged the thrusters....hesitant that perhaps I might be destroyed on departure. But you didn't, you said to me "Good role playin, it is hard to be a pirate sometimes." I thanked you and said that I do not mind piracy as long as they are honorable like you. And I warped out.

Whoever you are, wherever you are. Thank you for making my game experience that much more fun. Best 50 tons lost ever and I would gladly do it over again.

Never jettison over 20 tons for a pirate. There isn't time to pick up more than that before cargo times out. Probably not what you want to hear, but for future reference... Those imperial slaves died a cold miserable space death!

Out of interest, how often do you get type long messages before you're shields are blown? Usually?

Serves them right, imperial scum!

Great story btw. I wish I experienced stuff like this way way more often.

I don't type. I use a canned response in Voice Attack. So if I am interdicted I will say channel 1 comply. Channel 1 picks the first available communication option. The comply is the compliance message. Voice attack types out and sends it. I should note that long message is sent in a matter of 3 seconds.

Normally I would agree with that, but in this case Commander. I was hauling Imperial Slaves in a Type-6 with no weapons onboard. Now as the other fellow said, normally I wouldn't have jettisoned 50 tons of Imperial Slaves, but I had no choice in the matter. At the time I decided that was the best way to ensure the remaining Imperial Slaves lives as well as my own.

I had an experience like that. Except I refused to drop cargo and told the pirate that he'd be killing 96 innocent people just trying to pay off their debts if he shot me down.

He let me live. It was glorious.

Thank you for sharing this. I will make a canned reply for when I am carrying souls aboard so that I may use that if it happens again.

you can demand to wait until scooping is complete, then jettison the next load.

As for the OP; I would have shot him for spamming

Spam? It was a single message.

well I'm sure I would have reconsidered shooting you up if you had disagreed with my assessment of a full window of text being spam, including a dictionary reference.

You can certainly scoop more than 20 tonnes. My record is over 40. It really really helps if they're jettisoned though as you can just scoot forward, scoop, scoot backward, re-align, repeat. Work from the "top" down and you can scoop very quickly. If the cannisters have >500m gaps between them, maybe 20 is about right, but jettisonned cans can be grabbed much quicker.

Typical Federation mentality. No honor about you.

You've actually held me up before. Can't recall the system, but I recognize the name.
