A little recognition please...

Trivial I know, but today I ranked up a level in trading and didn't even realise. Even though this is an open ended game, one of the "points" is to progress through the ranks. A little recognition when this happens would go a long way to making it seem like an accomplishment.

A simple "right on commander" from the computer or a message from the pilots federation would be a nice touch at this point and surely not difficult to implement.

I would enjoy this too. The X series used to do this for Trade and Fight ranks, and it always made me feel good about myself =P

I want an official letter from the Pilot's Federation and a Medal! I also want exclusive rights to the VIP Lounge!

Seriously though, this is a HUGE missed opportunity... unlock decals, paint jobs, bobble heads, etc. (Exclusive access to Pilot Federation weapons and goodies?! )

From what I remember, FFE had a jaunty little tune that played every time you hit a new rank. We don't need anything quite so significant but surely a little fanfare wouldn't go amiss?

A fanfair would be a bit cheesy I think but an 'email' from the pilots federation to your in game account would be quite cool. 'You got mail!'

It wouldn't come at the expense of stomping bugs, because the part of the team fixing bugs wouldn't be the ones to add the feature.

I too miss the "Right on commander!". It made it feel like the rank was being bestowed by the Elite Federation.
Now it is just like numbers going up.

I think the reason I don't know anything about this might be obvious <blush>, but do they not even give you a "Right On Commander" in the comms window? It might be a little cheesy to have it come up in the centre of the screen... but this message is a part of Elite lore.
