TEST:MH Fleet Operations

1- the fights have been in a seekling luxeries node 7 mm from station. people who get blown up come right back clean and just because they don't have a wanted tag doesn't make our memory fail.
2- a fleet sticking together on runners would look one sided from the perspective of a 6km radar.

ITT a lot of care bear pretense postulated from ignorance.

Ok.....

Well then from someone who used to do this kind of thing in another game and youtube it, the people making this video need to work on their delivery if they actually want people to view and respect them doing some good

For starters, this video is the equavilant of lining up some suspected terrorists on TV and executing them, and expecting the world to take their word for it with no evidence

Someones word means nothing on the internet, the best thing you can do for those involved is try and video these players attacking unprovoked, robbing players Ect and going from there

I know it's hard to catch people in the act, but there are programs like shadow play i believe that can record from a point in the past you have missed so you can record an event if you were not recording at that time

You can't expect people to take your word for it

Another thing, flying around with a Wanted status makes you a target, with the ships you have you have been playing long enough to know this, you say they attacked you, of course they did if you had a wanted status, you know this is how the game works by now
So if you get attacked you can easily warn them off and say that the fleet here got it for a valid reason (when they check and you should only have at the most a few 1000 bounty for defending yourself or others) you should immdietely go and rid yourself off it to avoid confusion

If you sit around with a Wanted status in a seeking luxuries area (and I know which one your in) you can expect anyone to attack you if you have Wanted, your asking to be shot at because they see you camping there and assume your a pirate or player killer

If your really intending on doing some good and helping traders out, take some advice and clean up your act, because your video gives a terrible first impression

Isn't "Care Bear" one of those bozo no no's. Isn't that term considered a blatant and direct insult to a large portion of the player base?

Pretty much yeah... by using the term carebear he might as well be waving a flag that says "griefer" in big red letters.

I would say, judging from the video, 5 to 1 they are the GoonFleet. So, everyone else, you could complain how unfair it is, it doesn't going to help you or anyone. Just get used to be slaughtered, or get organized.

Actually we're TEST, but we're not that TEST (Seriously).

Nice try though pinning it on the Goons, they try take the credit for everything.

At least you know what I'm talking about, and in my opinion it means that you are following an example. Nothing wrong with it, because it is fun. Anyway, my point is remain valid: if someone meet organized group of players, the only meanfull way to oppose them (instead of simply running to solo, whine on the forums, etc.) is to get equally well organized with some other players.

In this thread: some posters see a video about PvP and immediately assume that it's a bunch of internet space bullies descending like hellfire on the innocent space man just for the sick pleasure of it.

We're showcasing the kind of fun you can have with group PvP in the game at the moment, nothing other than that. It's interesting that the assumptions are almost always negative. Rest assured, most of the video shows a few battles we had with another friendly PvP group. Both groups had a great time and we're actually planning on doing some cooperative flying soon and maybe some more skirmishes.

As for the "wanted" status thing, Zerocool said it best. System status has hardly anything to do with group PvP engagements in this game. You can be clean and still have ill intentions, and vice versa. It goes to show a lack of understanding to the game so those that think that way automatically assume the guys with the clean status are the good guys and anyone shooting them must be a bad guy.

It's not like that at all, as anyone who PvP's frequently in this game will attest to. Either way, everyone had a great time and I'm happy to see the amount of positive feedback this video generated around the community. We want to show that PvP is alive and well in this game and even without the wings update everyone involved is having a great time.

just to make some points clear

lol...yeah....
but some in the forums might not get it and think the guys posting this vid are "nice guys".....

just wanted to keep the "balance"
:)

Ha ha Yeah, this is exactly why we need group tags. So innocents don't get blow apart when they drop into a group v group combat area. Sorry if you feel like this is some kind of sad thing, it looks like a blast, and the reason I continue to play Elite Dangerous, for fights like this.

Man, Ghostickles... I've to hijack this thread to ask you an question asides. I've been thinking these last 3 hours what Elite: Dangerous would be, if FD would combine the "Management / Industry / Economy" of EVE Online with the power of 1st-Person-Experience...

And I just come to the conclusion, that it would be ossumely ossum.

What do you think?

When you have fleet vs fleet ops with known enemy targets on a kill list you dont wait for them to shoot first so that some scrub on the internet can see that you are clean and they are wanted and have good warm fuzzies about it.

Fleet vs Fleet domination-style operations in a game with no player 'ownership' of territory, based on P2P with a max of 32 players per instance, and where others can switch to solo or private groups to go right past you?

ROFL......you must be joking right? Right?

I see a large group killing of 1-2 players. not my type of fun.

Oh no, this was in a place where a few groups fought, maybe an innocent or two, but what you are seeing is called 'coordinated fire'. There is a thread or two floating around detailing either sides of the story there in Beta Sculptoris.

No, it wouldn't be in my opinion and that of a LOT of other players here. Not if it brought with it a domination-style, territorial control between player corporations in which a player can't progress of survive without being in one of those corporations - ie impose that style of gameplay on everyone just to satisfy the power hungry. You're a small fish in a very big ocean in this game - players will hopefully never be able to rival the in-game factions in terms of power and system occupation.

You still can play solo, right?
