Player ramming at Fan Horizon

Some bad player is currently in Fan Horizons in Beta Sculptoris, boosting into people whilst they land and take off. I'm not sure why anyone thinks it is amusing to do such a thing, perhaps they don't realise what it tells us about their lack of character and education. It is certain that something should be done about this sort of behavior though.

I (incorrectly, it transpires) assumed that the player base for a game like this would be somewhat more mature than your average FPS kiddie.

Someone will be along presently to tell you that the game is called Dangerous for a reason and that it's therefore your fault. Or something like that.

Obviously I would have, but I didn't get his name.

I was taking off when he boosted into me, I saw nothing coming. I survived - just.

I left the station, waited for my shields to come back up, and came straight back in to repair my ship, he then boosted into me again as I went to land. I didn't survive this time.

And again I saw nothing. I really didn't think anything like this could happen?

I had insurance(I don't always fly with it though).

I guess if that's all he's doing (and not just making a mistake with the ram) then that is griefing. Is there any delay on the free sidewinder? Maybe if you die too many times quickly, they could put in a delay so at least he'd need to take a break before you can go back to suiciding into the other players.

Nope. Ram damage does not count as hostile act and will neither qualify as actual kill that incurs a fine/bounty nor will it display the attackers name on the death screen since it is not considered an attack.

All true Cmdr Sandmann, but FD will hardly do anything. Gameplay - you know.
Since the unwashed masses gained access to the game these incidents have become regular. I take tha CoD and the the like idiotic games have now been proofed so much that griefing is neigh impossible, therefore this sorry bunch of brownholes find new horizons to make the gaming experience a rough ride.
fortunately there are not many of this explicit type.... But plenty of other types (that is no consolation , I know)
Anyway go solo, get away and go open when you are away and remember that when you upgrade to more than Cobra life in open is Hell.

Well, this is my last post on the forum. Apparently, I insulted another 'member' by calling them a mo**n and an imbe***le - that's not allowed so I'm told. Even though we don't know whether they are a member or not. Perhaps they mean an ED member? It certainly wasn't the response I thought I would get from Frontier.

Indeed, I'm far more shocked at my infraction than I am at the treatment from the 'very bad player' ramming into me. Oh, well. *Gobsmacked* :/
