Now that's the sort of Python I can live with.

Ahem. Here's one not quite so enthusiastic...
Elite: Dangerous review - in space, no-one can hear you yawn

Players could explore Elite: Dangerous for thousands of generations and not see it all
And I say: Buahahaha! If you've seen 10 systems you've seen them all. ...Basically the same planets everywhere, sure they look a little different because of the procedural generations but what makes one system really different from another one? Right: nothing.
Size doesn't matter...
Have you seen this? And I say: Buahahaha! If you've seen 10 systems you've seen them all.
Ok. Tell that to these guys (among others...), them having fun exploring all of these samey planets nonsense need to stop! Outrageous.
Evidence that Frontier seems to have started expanding the team:
Nice switcheroo. What you claimed was FD started hiring additional developers.
And the truth is that they just sacked fifteen developers.
Well crap. I really am at a loss for appropriate words here. So I'll just repeat some nonsensical ones. Well crap.
Anyone at FD care to comment on this and how it may, if at all, affect the quote below?
"The full development team is now back refreshed after the holidays, and have hit the ground running.
There are exciting times ahead, which of course we will keep you fully updated on via our newsletters as we are ready to talk about things. We plan to continue with our collaborative approach to development, using Beta tests wherever appropriate to make sure we can get your valued feedback.
We’re proud of the fantastic game that we released before Christmas, and as we have said we intend to keep growing and developing it.
To make this happen we’re expanding the team working on the game so that we can maintain a regular schedule of updates as well as working on the paid expansions.
The regular updates won’t just be the ongoing fixes and tweaking we’ve provided since release - we will also add new features and content for all."
I have to hope that the "full development team" is still intact and that "To make this happen we’re expanding the team working on the game" is/will still happen.
Another question to ponder is what is the size of the ED team or is everyone working on the scream thingy working on ED too and vice versa? That 280 number people have been throwing around for a long time obviously was a bit off or at least erroneously assumed that number were working exclusively on ED. Obviously that wasn't the case.
I just can't resist the following: I know where the missing content in ED is, it's in the other game FD has been developing.Ok feel free to throw tomatoes and various edible items.
15 'Content Creation' jobs have just been axed - FD's Canadian studio is now effectively closed.
That's a good thing, right?
Uhh.....well.....don't see how it possibly could be but, I guess I'm more worried that since ED is sorely lacking content right now laying off content creators probably isn't going to be a bonus. Unless there's a stockpile of it laying in a warehouse somewhere.
From the DDF it seems like there's a ton of content, the problem is coding it in to the game not creating more![]()
I see, so the programmers are to blame for those other 15 ships not being done. My mistake. I suppose planet landings are awaiting on the coders too as all the content is complete minus the code.
I know what you mean though, content doesn't always mean models, sounds, textures and all that stuff. Sometimes, like this one, lack of coded features can be considered "content" too. Unfortunately, ED has both versions covered![]()
Like I said earlier they've had "we're hiring" posts up on their main page and newsletters for ages so it looks to me like they're centralizing in the uk. I'm sure stuff for expansions will need to be made by hand but I'm assuming it's much easier when everyone's in the same country and timezoneNow if only they hired more support staff
![]()
Ya right? I'd have kept the Canadian oil burning for a month or two longer and just set the dial to "support" before closing that studio but, I don't think that would have went over well. Now if only they hired more support staff![]()
