I hate Cobras.

Cobras don't kill ships. People in Cobras kill ships.

I love my Cobra. Don't go disrespecting the vessel, when it is the minority of occupants doing something you dislike. :)

Oh - and my guns are purely for self defence. Honest. :D

Solution to rabid dogs: go solo.

Solution to rabid dogs, kill'em all!!

I also had my ship destroyed by one of this "commanders" (in a Viper) and I seek revenge since them...

This rabid dogs forget that traders will not always be traders, and most likely they will end up with a bigger and deadlier ship than theirs...:D

So......

I bounty hunt exclusively in a Cobra, never pirated.

To OP - Once wings are available I will willingly fly with you or any other trader who asks for it.

We don't make you play in solo. Cowardice does.

Hey I'm pretty sure I've seen you a couple of days ago on MWO forum :D

No. Any supercruising Cobra is a potential pirate, and if you're in a Cobra, you're wearing a pirate's uniform. I hate Cobra and I hate you too.

Why on earth are you trading in heavily populated pirate infested areas for a mear 2k per ton round trip? Plenty of good trade routes away from the core systems with 3k+ per ton round trips some even shorter than 30ly distance point to point most arn't on bpc or thrudds yet when they do go up it still takes awhile for the routes to get saturated. I get board with the same routes so every now and then I load up the ship for a scouting run usually find some gems in so called unexplored space. How exactly do you lose 5mil to 2bil population colonies is beyond me but it great for trade.

Those are either too green and are too caught up in their pirate play <snip> for the former I would simply open fire <snip>

The third type is what I would call "rabid dogs", because they would open fire on sight and would not stop until you explode.

Wait a minute...

First you go "rabid dog" on players who are actually trying to play piracy in the way people like yourself are complaining that people don't play piracy.

Then you proceed to complain about "rabid dogs" who do to you what you do to inexperienced or rookie pirates.

Why isn't there a picture of you in the dictionary next to 'hypocrite' ?

Internet never ceases to be funny I guess.

Well then if you would like to help me out and teach me how to find trade routes, I'll be glad to hear it.

My only problem with the Cobra is it's quite clearly the dev favourite and it's treated as such. Anything else is a tradeoff - rather than being excellent at one thing, it's mostly good at everything. That being said, fighting them isn't a no-win situation.

Once Wings is out, I'm hoping to see more escort groups out. Makes pirating more interesting, adds another means to bounty hunt, combat players can share the wealth of the trade players, more people can play in open, Big Fun Space Fights take the place of getting FSD ganked.

For what its worth he did call them rabid dogs, which equates them to a sick and damaged animal with no capability of rational thought or anything beyond a compulsion towards random violence.

Not sure if that is better or worse, but it seems apropos. ;)

Well its better than a rabid mawg.

Agreed. I've said it before and I'll probably keep saying it... The Cobra is overpowered when compared to other ships in it's class, most notably, the Viper.

Why would you call someone names for not wanting to deal with pvp? Cant they play the way they want to and you play the way you want to with out being a looser.

I don't think a trader opening fire on a pirate is 'rabid dog' behavior. It is called 'zero-tolerance'. Just like, for example, a cop who shoots someone for shooting someone else is not a hypocrite.

Someone with a bounty on their head is open game.

These "Rabid Dogs" attack clean players without so much as "Hello..."

Strange how some people automatically run to the defense of the indefensible.

Over the course of me trading in my Type-9, I have developed a profound hatred toward Cobras.

So far, I have encountered three types of pirates: one, NPC pirates, which are no problem in most cases unless they're in a Dropship or Clipper and would lead to a rather lengthy battle; and two, the types would ask first then shoot later. Those are either too green and are too caught up in their pirate play, or very experienced and understand the value of the ship, and for the former I would simply open fire, and for the latter, well, they would probably ask again when my hull is at around 10% and at that point I guess I would just drop what they want for the sake of it.

The third type is what I would call "rabid dogs", because they would open fire on sight and would not stop until you explode. And since I'm in a T9 which hauls a massive load, the chance of some my goods surviving is almost guaranteed.

And I hate them. For obvious reasons.

And they're always in Cobras. Of course it's Cobra. Because it's only ship that suits that role. Sidey is too wimpy, Eagle can barely carry anything and Vipers are mostly used by bounty hunters. Those that can afford anything above that probably worked their rear off and understand the labor that goes into those ships.

Because of them, I had to find trade routes that are relatively low-vis with profitability at only 2000Cr per ton per round trip. And whenever I finds a trade route ending in a new system, I'm always fanatically looking around for hollowed signals, and whenever a Cobra pops up my heart begins pounding hard.

I've had two encounters with those that I call rabid dogs. I've run into Cobras that don't really understand what they're doing, and then I run into another one carrying chaff launcher and I got exploded. Total loss around 7 millions. With a burning ball of fury rampaging within, I replaced all my weapons with seeker missiles - fixed weapon in a T9 is impossible, gimbal/turret are junk against chaffs. With five missiles, even if the pirate is carrying Point Defense, there's still a chance at least a couple of missiles will find their ways through.

And today I got interdicted by another one of those rabid dogs. I finally had the chance to test out my new loadout, and I'm very glad to see that after four rounds of alpha-strike his hull was down to 2%, after which I didn't hesitate to go ahead for a fifth. Oh boy it felt good. So good. My shield was gone and my hull was knocked down to 65% but UGH IT FELT GOOD.

Anyway, just letting off some steam.

Join the club ! recently ive noticed that trying to nab Cobra III criminals usually results in throwing a lot of
ammo at them, hacking away their drives, power plants and hulls to a few % and just about every bloody time
whump ... they jump. I had 11 in a row on Sunday. I can kill smaller, bigger, and x-large no probs but the Cobra 3
has a poor return on investment (of time and interdiction damage etc etc)

Its a hardy wee ship it seems, perhaps too hardy . A number of targets (dangerous level) I had at the weekend all
managed to jump in the last few % of life after I had poured all 6 weapons of my ASP into them and some
missiles and a big fat projectile canon, and ramming with my A6 shield. Most other ships would have popped by then.

There is no way my ships would jump with so much damage. Something I notice has changed. A number of the
C3's that got away from me I had their FSD down to 20% and my ASP was right on their ASS so they should
have also been mass locked.

Since the weekend ive stopped going after C3's they seem imbalanced and every one seems to have a 20 foot
thick hull harder than a dropship :) Someone has been selling them that unobtainium armour.
