BD+03 2338 - Working as intended?

Just curious. Read in the news, that FED navy were deployed on orders to bring back the system under federal rule and all players are invited to help. I set sail, arrive there in 6 jumps to find that there is indeed civil war going on between an anarchy faction and a federation faction, yet no conflict zones are in place. Looking for some action i went to the nearest resource extraction site and killed 10 system authority ships, belonging to the anarchists. Now sitting in a nearest space station and contemplating - is it supposed to be this way, or did they forget to deploy conflict zones...

EDIT: There is one checkpoint though.

Yeh, just been there then went to Banki. At least there was a conflict zone in Banki. Looked at the checkpoint in BD+03 2338 and wasted some of the FED opponents (they were all ELITE), but no way to get any pay for anything you do here. Bit of a waste of time given I had to jump over 100ly in a Viper.

Banki at least has conflict zones, but the reputation gain from missions appears to be random or reversed.

I'm guessing they thought this would be a fun event for the weekend, and then everyone at Frontier went home without actually testing anything to see if it's working.

I went to Banki to do some fighting for the Federal Navy and there were two conflict zones. My thing is though that the way GalNet is written you think you were either getting missions or that the combat bounties would be higher than your typical 3k you get everywhere. Then again I didn't try flying to the second station in the system which is about 500k LS away. Maybe there are missions at that station?

There are definitely missions at that station, but the reputation and influence gains seem to be bugged.

I went to Banki and did one of the combat missions to kill Warzone ships. I went to the nearby conflict zone and destroyed the local authority ships, which boosted my rep with the Federation. But then I went back, got another combat mission, and this time the exact same kills lost my rep with the Federation.

Try doing a mission for the rebels. It might gain you Federation rep.

I've done several missions from the bulletin board now. They all just say to kill Warzone ships. The problem is the mission doesn't say which Faction you would get rep with.

Well it turns out all but one of them have been giving me rep with the Banki Gold Gang, which is the opposing faction! Even though I've been killing their ships! That makes no damn sense to me at all! I'm just gonna skip the missions and just kill ships at the zone with the Faction choice set to support the Federation.

EDIT: Ok. I just realised it tells you next to the mission on the bulletin board which faction it gives you rep with. My bad for being blind...

I've just been there... the conflict zones are near the 3rd planet. You need to get close otherwise you won't see them.
Two high density combat zones, in the one I checked feds were winning. I took out some small fighters and come back to the station (far, far away) to claim the credits.
I will retry tomorrow, I did 120LY...

Edit: I''m talking about BD+03 2338...

Thank you, have some rep. I'd spent enough time flying around this system looking for conflict zones and had almost given up. Is a bit poop that I couldn't detect the conflict from the only station in-system.

Doesn't it say Banki Gold gang on the bulletin board before you click on the mission to accept it ? That's how all other missions work!

Yes, conflict zones are only visible within 500 LS ( coincidence with that being basic disco scanner range?)
Like many other things that aren't astronomical objects such as the Nav Bacon.

Thanks, I knew about the 500 LS nav range. I just wasn't expecting the combat zones to be placed so far from the only starport in the system. It's such a remote location to have tactical importance.

Ok im convinced now the system is broken. I got a mission from Gold Advanced Partners in Banki to kill pirates. I did that, which were all members of the Banki Gold Gang, their opposing faction in the civil war. And yet doing so has somehow made me unfriendly with Gold Advanced Partners!

HOW?!

And now I just did a conflict zone mission for the Gold Advanced Partners. And on turning it in, I lost rep with them...

I've submitted a ticket. I want my rep back!

I'm at Blenkinsop Station, there is absolutely no indication of a civil war being fought here. The bulletin board looks exactly like any other anarchy station I've ever seen, lots of toxic waste, lots of salvage, kill missions for traders, bounty hunters and authority and both Hand and Battle weapons are being supplied here instead of being at an appropriate demand for a war zone.

They even have a 10400 demand price for Gold - they're spending their money on keeping up the production instead of fighting the Federation for independence!

FD, what are we supposed to do here? I might as well have stayed at Forculus or Caelotoxxia for those missions and economy, I might as well have made it to a non-galnet conflict zone within 20 LY for mindless Pew pew in a conflict zone

I'm expecting a lot more from a GalNet advertisted hot zone.

The conflict zones are at the last planet in the system number 3. SHould be almost 3000ls away from entry

They really need better coordination between the content writers and the IT department or something.
