The 1.1 Collision Damage Thread

Hey FD

Fix your collision damage - There isn't really any point in embellishing.

To the guy that rammed me should you read the forums - well fought sir, don't blame you at all!

Posting what I wrote in other thread:

Hitbox/physic size is off?, causing collision to think that the ships are actually 'within' eachother when they do it? basing this on that my cobra seems to be landing a bit high as in it feels like the landing gear is longer now? and I don't see why it should be? feels double? and if the physic models are only invoked at the point of shield contact and such, they would overlap and boom, would also mean that landing gear which has scarily little hp, could due to physic box hit something it should and go boom? since normally it should be just within shield and protected by it? but now it is not?

Ok - I just posted it below but I just got scraped in pvp by another python putting up a great fight, and i instantly died with 4 pips shield and 2 rings, when he only had 70-80% hull and no shields. I'm fairly certain he died too but compared to the previous version of the game he would have taken 20% and i would have taken 1 ring.

Again, not blaming the guy here he fought very well not his fault mechanics aren't consistent.

I'm good for now, I'll come back tomorrow to answer the DENSE posts...

and maybe even laugh while quoting a dev saying this is a glitch and they're working on it

and laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh...

People, please. The point of a beta is not to find and potentially fix game breaking bugs. The point of a beta is to make beta players (like myself) and earlier still feel special after launch. Priorities.

Too soon?

Edit: Yes, I've defended Frontier in the past, but this is just too much. I had to let the snark show through a little.

It seems to be a lot worse in large ships.

In my cobra I was testing it out by slowly ramming or nudging several bigger NPC ships and for the most part (70% of the time) my cobra shields held and their shields didn't.

In an anaconda it seems the slightest little brush against anything and major chunks of hull gets damaged.

How about reading opened tickets from 1.1 beta testers and also present in the 1.1 beta forum ?!
They've already said it shouldn't have slipped past, but it did, human error, it happens, everyone makes mistakes and they are fixing it, fly with a little more care until then?

Several people have reported excessive collision damage in the 1.1 release.

No problems with 1.1 collision damage.

As per the Elite Forum Code Of Conduct, any player suffering from damage since 1.1 either cant fly properly and/or is a bad pilot. Solutions range from the usual 'learn to fly' trolling to 'just uninstall the game' responses.

There are no problems with the patch or the game, ONLY the pilot is bad. Any choices made by pilots to resist or change behaviour will be identified as 'cheating'

After months of reading these forums, the above are the appropriate responses to any issues. Please see any other thread for confirmation.

Thanks, :p

Are you really serious ?!
Human errors ?! We have opened tickets, released video about this issue, tested as fast possible in the few days available.
All of the beta testers already knows that there was this issue...this in not a mistake, it's ignoring beta testing results.
If you hit a mosquito you will blow your 1000 TONs Type 9 at 50 m/s...

1.5 pips to shields - scrape a cobra going about 10units faster than it. 2.5 rings of shield gone, Shield regenerates after 10 seconds, Class 4 D Rating shield generator on a cobra.

OK, since this is official, I will repeat my previous post: My first rant on this - for me - wonderful game.

This new hypersensitivity of ships has really made me keep my T9 and Conda in dock. I don't feel like losing a heavy hauler full of palladium to the bug, over and over. And many of threads from today tell the same story.

Please Devs, just give us a comment: is this "working as intended"*
or is it "oops, we are looking into that"?

Thank you!

Somebody deliberatly rammed me in the letterbox as I was leaving a station, I was only travelling slowly but he knocked my shields out and left me with 4% hull cost 190,000 credits to repair (Asp) dont know wether this is related, but it did seemed rather excesive damage for the hit as he was travelling slowly then suddenly accelerated into me.
