The 1.1 Collision Damage Thread

I'm talking about the one that seems broken for so many. I thought that is the current version 1.1 or did I miss something?
What are you talking about?

The one that caused so much grief is part of the 1.1 patch. There's a new fix called 1.1.02 which should fix 1.1.

The 1.1 version went through Beta Testing and several people posted that the collision damage calculation was borked. This slipped through into Live 1.1.

I have no idea what testing has or will go on with 1.1.02, but I hope it might just be reverting to the old but working, calculation.

I hope that's clearer.

They have now stated they are going to reimburse the insurance fees paid. However how they are going to handle it for those few that are unlucky enough to have ended in sidewinders I dont know.

Also no time frame for the fix yet.

Hmmm - after suffering from this in my T9 and having to take the sidewinder option I am not holding much hope for getting my 90mil ish credits back (more if you inc the cargo, lol). Even the insurance money would be a big jump up for me right now, but I am not hopeful.
Bah

After reading this thread and others, I logged off. Not risking my Type9 after all the "work" (not fun) I put into getting it.

Good thing I dont play today. Spend my time adjusting my fleet outfitting (bar Anaconda and Python that's 220LY away) to be in the right side of JUST right, and even then the few trips I took to get some parts from other stations I made sure I am dead center of the gate, even on a Sidey

I meant to report this yesterday. I was exiting envelope in my Python with A4 shields. Scraped the side of an Orca traveling at whatever speed they travel, while I was doing ~45. I had slowed waaaaaaaaaaaaaay down. Might have even been stopped.

Regardless, shields dropped and hull went down to 71. Couldn't believe it.

Earlier, without shields, some dumb eagle authority clipped me while scanning, I dropped to 91 hull, but I am pretty sure he died.

Will be very happy to hear this is fixed. I spent something like 700k-800k Fixing up my ship over it. Lucky I didn't lose all my cargo!

Sounds like a fix has been issued by now, just leaving my experience.

I'm guessing there's just some incorrect math somewhere that sometimes gives a spurious result equalling death or heavy damage.

In my Type 6 I have bumped a few times exiting the station without issue - usually when an NPC either i) Goes most of the way through the door, then stops dead and I have a squeeze past, or ii) An NPC decides to try to enter the dock quickly as I'm exiting. I've even been bumped just as I'm landing (on autopilot) when an AI ship has launched and flown right into me. Luckily I've lost nothing more than one ring of shield at worst so far.

Hopefully the incoming update can sort the broken math, if that is indeed the route cause.

Scoob.

Right. I volunteer on of you posters above me to test the fix and report back. I'll be at my window, looking up and hoping to see an explosion :p

I will heroically... um... do my usual cargo run and try not to hit anything too hard. x3 But if there's any other sudden destruction or death when I inevitably scrape the letterbox and/or a ship, God knows I will be coming riiight back here.

in the thread they say they restored the check for multiple collisions with same target - so slow contact was giving lots and lots of collision damage - doh

I'll donate a few tons of Tea if you blow up. You know, for comfort :D
