How about closing blastdoors until the atacker is destroyed so he can't get out and other commanders can't get in during this time :D

I've luckily not experienced this as I only play solo, but I cannot understand why the station weapons can be significantly increased. That and maybe a tractor beam that forces the ship in to a secure location that is then obliterated by station weapons.

What ELSE is there to do in an Anaconda?

Thats an honest question. Trying to amuse yourself at that point in game requires extraordinary means I'm sure.

Because this is the first game ever where people rush to 'endgame' within a couple weeks of launch and having nothing to do right?

I think for me it would be more fun to fall back to an eagle or viper and further improve my combat skills in small ships

Its an open universe and there is a clue in the title *Dangerous* wow, if someone wants to play a villain or madman its his choice. Universe is huge, with 15654 centilion people living there, some of them might be different than what we earthlings expect!! Thats what i like in this game. What if there will be a war between Federation and Empire and one of the missions will be to nuke the station ??? Or Thargoids will show up and start eating pilots alive?

Few more updates and this game will have PEGI 7 rating :-(

I race through completely dark asteroid rings with my lights on, gets my heart pumping! The rocks don't show up on the scanner for some reason so it's pretty dangerous.

Like this only darker. I was only flying around for a minute here but was already getting sweaty.

All the attacker has to do is log off and back on, and they will be outside the station, and apparently, regardless of the players standing with the station, they will be able to dock again and repeat the process.

Well for starters, the location in the video is Lave. That isn't a starter zone, in fact it is well over a hundred lightyears from any starter zone and is a rare goods trade system.

Lave is the starter zone for the "Independent Trader" Kickstarter tier.

"It's horrible but you can't take your eyes away! Like watching a monkey swallow a hand grenade."

Remember the good ol' Frontier days? The fine/response you'd get for a single laser shot? :D

The station guns definitely need some serious beefing up. It'd also be nice if you could attack someone who's shooting inside a station without retaliation too. I think stacked fines with base 10 increments could work too. 100 Cr > 1,000 Cr > 10,000 Cr etc. Up to a max of say, 10,000,000 Cr?

Only downside to this is if someone gets caught in crossfire.

I agree and I think the crossfire issue is easy to solve. The station's response doesn't have to be realistic, does it? Couldn't the beams pass through innocents and just hit the intended target?

There's definitely a myriad of solutions here, and what seems like easy ones at that.

No offense to OP, but so what? Just kill him, or if you can't, move someplace else. Not like you *have* to be in that particular station. I decided, after running a combat ship since launch, to try out some exploration and prospecting for a change. I move a mere 200ly out of the busy systems to the frontier and lo and behold, every station I visit has exactly 1 player ship logged in past 24 hours - me.

It's only crowded if you want it to be. No need to chicken out and go solo either. Just watch your six, don't trust anyone and you'll be fine. Kinda like EvE, only without chokepoints!

Honestly, I think this talk of nerfing chaff or buffing station defenses misses the point a bit. A resourceful player will always find a way to kill a commander in a station.

For example: Just now, I pincered a commander python between the station walls and my type 9. He kept colliding with the station and my type 9, pincered between the two, and in about 30 seconds he was dead. I was just doing my normal trade run, he was on his way out of the station, I saw an opportunity and I took it. No bounty or fine for me, and no hull damage either.

My point is this: No matter what you nerf, or how you buff station defenses, the station will always be a choke-point and natural spot for an ambush, and people will find a way to use it. It's a box where the only way in or out is a tiny slot. It's practically made for slaughter.
Heh, I was kind of joking before but now its pretty obvious you are the most despicable type of human being. Disgusting.

Could you point this out because afaik it isn't. If it is FD own trailer is misleading because it shows attacking within stations.

Link me the TOS and I'll point out the section.

7.3 is what you're looking for

Show me where exactly it says "attacking a player within the confines of a station is against the terms of service."

Here is the EULA & ToS:

https://store.elitedangerous.com/ed-eula/

Neither section 7.3 nor any other section make any mention of a ban on hostile acts in stations.
Just to remind you, here's what you said earlier:

Is it against the TOS of the game to attack players inside a station? I'm guesing not.

Yes, yes it is.

Since there is no mention of stations anywhere in the EULA & TOS and murder in the general case has been explicitly allowed by Fdev (source), you are categorically incorrect. Hostile actions are allowed, stations are not a special case in the EULA & TOS. But please, by all means, keep filing those reports and posting complaints to the forums.

While you do that, I think I'll go ram another python with my type 9.

Me too, and the Eagle is amazing in the rift for me, but some people don't have combat skills and just need to be bigger.

Of course the EULA isn't this specific. If it were, it'd be a thousand pages long. You're basically making the argument that you can use a specific racial slur in chat because that racial slur isn't explicitly forbidden by the TOS.

didn't FD fix some of the griefing for 1.1? of course dumb-fire missiles are nerfed now, so that's why he wasn't using them
Griefing fix is called "Solo" and it was available from the day 1 :) I don't find it to be an exploit if you can tank a station for some time in an endgame ship and this guy is doing the only meaningful thing Elite PvP provides - mindless murder for kicks and forum threads... Base camping is a part of any legitimate PvP game. Play solo, learn the way of firewalls or get killed - your choice :)
