Official declaration of player bounty.

Well, yes, we do that... in Empire or Independent systems. In Federation or Alliance systems we'll often just interdict and open fire if we're in a combat operation... we're an aggressive Imperial player group, it's kinda what we do... depends on which way the wind is blowing that day. Some days we're strictly PvE or we just fly around recruiting and being nice to people.

I daresay you would've been killed regardless of whether he recognised you... but perhaps the decision to target thrusters as opposed to destroying outright was because he remembered you. I can not speak for said pilot... but he is prone to various flights of fancy...

Now at the risk of "victim blaming"... flying around in an Anaconda and being called "The One Percent" and saying you're "With The One Percent" is going to put a LOT of people off-side... I'm just saying.

I mean if I was called CMDR EatMyDust or CMDR CatchMeIfYouCan (not naming and shaming these are hypothetical names!) then you could reasonably be expected to be an automatic target for other players...

I would say in a post-GFC / Occupy Wall Street world calling yourself The One Percent is going to make you the target of.... well... the other 99%, give or take. ;) just sayin

Just a straight up ultimatum....

I don't think that's an ultimatum....

Wait, so his commander name is a problem now?

I called my self OnePercent because back in BETA I made it back to a station after a fight and I only had OnePercent Health.

The amount of conspiracy to my name. Jeeeeeez someone even thought I was a Biker or drug smuggler last year.

I'm not "the one percent" I am simply. OnePercent. i'm not glorifying the true 1 percent of the world who own 50 percent of the worlds wealth. I am simply One percent, it's easy, you even made a video teasing my name on youtube saying "less than Onepercent thrusters" Almost got the hang of it.

wonder what the rebuy cost is on his Python, would be nice when one of his friends take him down and split your bounty for profit :D even better once you drop the last canister turn on you and hit your drives again :D

Never thought about that, But I trust these bounty hunters to do their job and not double cross me when i'm in a type 9 full of palladium all by my self with my thrusters facing their weapons.

Just picking up all that Palladium sounds like a lot of work. That aside, what we could need is a player created Bounties function in-game.

How I'd envisage such a thing to work, is:

- Sorted under Contacts in the Starport menu.
- Any player may issue a Bounty on anyones head. Bounty size only limited by the players available funds. When issuing a Bounty, the amount issued goes into escrow. The bounty must be collected within one week. If no-one kills the target within a week, 90% of the amount put in escrow are returned to the player who issued the bounty.
- Several players may put a bounty on the same target. Current bounty is the total issued by all players who have issued a bounty on a given target. As a bounty expires by one player, that players part of the total bounty is deducted.
- If issuing additional bounty on a target already wanted by another player, additional bounties must be placed in the station or outpost of where the original bounty was issued.
- A player bounty will not affect the targets wanted status by any faction.
- A target keeps the player issued price on his head until the bounty is claimed.
- If the target respawns and is killed again, the first to claim the bounty is the one awarded the bounty.
- The bounty must be claimed where it was issued.
- Upon collecting a bounty, a player may decide to share it with select people on his/hers contact list.

I think such a feature would add quite a bit to player interactivity :)

Please see my suggestion thread! I completely agree with you!

Maybe with Wings they could introduce a repair bots module. You could use it on commanders stranded in space and take cash for the service. :) Smaller ships wouldnt afford to take up the space needed. But all big ships would have one.

I would love to see Anacondas and t9s with large external mounted repair racks, capable of repairing damaged ships and also hauling wreckage back to station for recycling (and profit).

I'm not saying his name is a problem or even the cause... just perhaps a contributing factor.

I mean look you could call yourself CMDR FourTwenty because you really like meat pies (it's a brand in Australia) but most people are probably going to think you're a stoner.

Words/names have connotations beyond what someone necessarily intends...

Like how Nissan make a car called the Pajero... where they clearly didn't ask any Latinos what that word is slang for.

No you are saying you assumed that his name has socio political implications and would contribute to you attacking him. Completely jumped to conclusion there. You also insulted him several times.

If he had killed him and moved on I would say it’s not an issue, part of a conflict zone and I’m all for a bit of role play and lore. But to just kill his engines like that looks a lot like greifing to me. It seems quite personnel and to joke about if afterwards is really arrogant. I hope you’re proud of yourselves.
Also the comm’s at the end seem to show it was because of his response in an earlier discussion.
I looked up your website out of interest. Lot’s going on and I like people are trying to add some background lore to the game but in my opinion inventing role play as an excuse to grief is still griefing.

Well said. +1

Honestly, it's done, What's done is done, I've vented all my frustration knowing those bounties remain on their head's even if i was a bit of a scrub being angry whilst arguing (which is never a good rational thing)

So thank you for seeing it in that light.

The bounties remain, I plan to test out how on earth we're going to transfer the 4000 tons of palladium. But I will do it, I promise.

Wow it's like logical fallacy bingo up in here....

I didn't assume anything... I said it could be assumed (not that it should)... and that his name may or may not have been a contributing factor. I don't know, I wasn't the one who attacked him.

"Looks like griefing"... except that AFAIK FD has stated that this is working as intended so... no, not griefing... knocking out subsystems and 'murder' are valid gameplay choices (dev confirmed).

"Hope you're proud of yourselves." This is one incident involving one pilot... love your broad brush stroke painting there. Please google "Association fallacy".

If you'd checked out our website properly you'd see that "Emperor's Grace" is not a player group per se but a hub for multiple player groups... of which East India Trading Company is but one... of which the CMDR in question is but one player of said group...

Your "inventing RP to grief" inference is baloney.

Come at it any way you like... the fact exists that we haven't done anything that FD haven't programmed the AI to do (with the exception of text communications)... we're just better at it.

Good man. I'm glad you're no longer frustrated but sticking to your word (even a word given in haste or stress).

I hope some people come and take a crack at it... will make things interesting for a while. Make sure to post the video (if not here then the sub-reddit) so we can all enjoy it. :)

I mean all that sincerely by the way... please don't read it as sarcasm.

Fly safe, CMDR o7

I hope FD realize the gargantuan amount of emergent gameplay which can come from implementing credit transfers between players and decide to do it.

For the record, I'm not picking any sides here. I didn't even read the thread. I just want to grab popcorn and see this kind of stuff on YouTube. Stories from E : D.

No bingo here.

You had an issue with his name, whichever way you dressed it up, read what you said.
You go around calling yourself "The OnePercent" flying around in your 20mil insurance Anaconda... so clearly trading is all you know... took your big fancy ship into a combat zone and got schooled by someone that knows how to fly.
Now you're offering money for someone else to take revenge.
You sound like a pathetic trust fund kid.”

I don’t care what FD says, I said it looks like griefing to me. Also, why just destroy the engines, the AI does not do that. And if you make a website for all your lore, it’s still griefing to me.
Association fallacy? You’re part of the group, and you defended the actions. So if you affiliate with him and condone what he did, yeah I’m gonna group you with him.
A group of a group is still a group. If you don’t agree with the actions taken again you shouldn’t have defended them, otherwise I’ll assume you condone it.
Also what about the comm’s at the end? It looks clear to me it had nothing to do with a conflict zone fight at all, and it was because he didn’t answer the Empire/Fed question with enough respect to you “Empires Grace” club.
