Ideas for Asteroid's

Well what would they normally do? give off rare materials? collide into stations and planets etc?

How about the ones that are big enough make them to be landed on for miners you could touchdown then open your cargo bay or some other port for the laser, instead of just hovering there shooting your mining laser. Or if we get mining droids have them land a bore into the rock making a visible hole, then collect them when they are finished.

If the rock was small enough no reason why you couldn't clamp onto it somehow and move it, take it to a bigger resource ship for processing, that way your still mining but not cutting bits off you are employed as the finder and collector.

i can think of loads for these space rock, not just something to be dodged while fighting. Although that is awesome lol.

I dont think that our puny little laser beams would even scratch an asteroids surface, neither would the rockets. To destroy an asteroid the best option would be one of the capital ships (tho not sure if those have any bigger guns besides the standard laser/cannon turrets)

I have a great idea. We could build hangers in them.

Edit: Dam, just googled it, looks like another game stole my idea.

I actually would like to have different colors for all different tiers of laser beams.

But what I meant with bigger cannons was macrocannons (cannons that shoot munition as big as a small ship) or really big torpedos (with the power of a nuclear bomb or even more). These weapons would obviously only be effective in a capital ship vs capital ship fight. But also if you want to destroy something as massive as an asteroid, or a station.

It would be nice to see some BIG asteroids..........in the rings, shepard moons and the like.........or the odd "whopper" that dwarfs all others....maybe with a giant worm living in it.... :D
