Did the ultimate nerd thing

The Obutto R3Volution Gaming Cockpit is the PREMIER gaming cockpit for Flight Sims, Racing Sims, and General Computer Use/Workstation Usage. The Obutto series of cockpits are the FIRST cockpits to ever be multi-task cockpits, catering to Flight Sim users, Racing Sim Users and General Workstation users, all in one.

Sorry "workstation users"? That sounds like a legitimate business expense to me :D

I looked at those.
Didn't have any use for the monitors due to DK2, so last week bought a Playseat Air Force, X55 and Razer Orbweaver Stealth.
Very happy with my flight seat :D
Note: Takes some getting used to since the stick are now down by your side instead of in front of you on a desk.

Ordered an Obutto R3volution gaming cockpit....
I hope it's every bit as great as it seems on paper.

Very interesting.. where are you based and how much did it come to if you dont mind me asking? Seems to be around €650 for the basic desk, then some extras for the 3 screen mount and stick mounts etc?

I didn't buy the triple monitor stand. My PC isn't beefy enough for that, single 27" will have to do until I buy a new rig. I did buy the additional tabletops, speaker mounts and HOTAS mounts. Grand total including shipping and paypal extra was 1000€. I'm in germany, the distributor is in spain.

Regarding monitors, it should be noted, that both wheel stand as well as tabletops sport vesa mounts and can be put into vertical position. With that you could actually go full eyefinity with 6 monitors, if you have the cash.

Hmm.. for the same price I got a full leather reclining armchair (with footpad) including two side mounted trays that can be swung inward. Opposite that swivel wall mount for monitor and a white wall for projector. No multiple monitors yet (rather waiting for the DK2 successor to hit shelves). But that workstation looks cool, too.

No space

for that monster, I wuold have one in a flash.

I have ordered a couple of under desk keyboard mount arms. Been looking for a while any found an ebayer selling some off cheap, the postage was 3 times the item to the UK!! The arms were only $25 Can't find a simliar product in the UK for less that £200 ish. All the suppliers I have approached previously wanted huge minimum orders size (0ver 1k) etc.

The idea being that the sticks will just stow away under my regular desk when not in use.

New comfy chair next!!

I do work from home on occasion so its all totally justified!!

LOL.

OK I am not in the same class as you guys but I am doing my bit in my own small way. I have a very very limited budget and am known as general tight ass who has been known to lecture about the disgrace of any computer game or peripheral costing more than £10

  1. Buy the game. (Yes I did that first - make of it what you will)
  2. Buy a new computer to play the game (£219)
  3. Consider trying mouse/keyboard but borrow childs Xbox controller.
  4. Buy X box controller (£25)
  5. Read about HOTASs - think about it - buy black widow (£35 including delivery)
  6. Put up with lots of impertinent questions from my children about spending on a game
  7. Thought my ordinary headphones had broken (they hadn't it was a loose plug) so instead of replacing them with ordinary set buy a gaming headset (£15 - god bless Aldi)
  8. I am working on getting a small light for my keyboard to let me play in the dark
  9. Continue to resist the temptation to look on ebay.

I truly love this game - it is wonderful brilliant magical etc etc.

You don't need a light for your keyboard if you buy one that is has back lights built in I have a G510 loigitech and I love it, I usually set the color of the keys to match my HUD in ED.

Hows is that Black Widow working out for you, I was thinking of buying one but I don't like how its all one piece.

Regarding lights, I can recommend this LED strip to put behind your monitor:

I bought the volair flight sim cockpit, very similar setup. I don't regret it at all, so comfortable to access my stick and throttle now. :p
