Yup I got it for 5.6M with the 7.2 million I had. Right now it's a poor little trade ship that can defend itself. I found a good trade route though so if I really want to I'll grind to get some upgrades. Here's hoping the new 1.2 ships are good though, because I kind of want a fighter still.
this is the burning question of the moment... can we sell high and buy back low? have just travelled to a nearby system where the asp is on sale at the full price. the trade in price for my current rig is the same in both places. dont want to exploit but just the once as a reward for a few days of hard work cant hurt can it?

Nope. All sell prices are relative to your specific buy price. You just reinvented the Founders World exploit, which was fixed and all credits so obtained wiped.
Edit: if you already had an Asp, you can sell it at 90% and rebuy at 85%, but selling the second Asp will only give you 90% of the price you paid for it.

tbh the time it takes you to fly there, unfit your asp, buy a new asp and fit it back and get back to where you want to be is better spent AB trading. Far better spent.
I think you'll lose out because of depreciation on ship value.
I just bought an asp at discount at nourse even though i came in one. I had to buy a sidewinder first.
As i intend to take my asp into combat, destruction is sometimes unevitable^^ I am very thankful for every cr less on rebuy.
But it seems strange that you get that discount for life. Anyone ticket it?

Oh I've seen those! Anyway I did a few upgrades and I'm ~600k with ~200k rebuy. I think a few hours of trading and i'll be a bit more comfortable. I'm really bored of the Cobra/Viper and the build I have right now sort of feels like a T6 with burst lasers.
I'm hoping that one of the new ships will be cheaper than the Asp and I'll stick to that instead post 1.2 launch.
I've just landed at Nourse Oribital again and sure enough as somebody has already stated the Asp is available for discount at 5,661,980cr.
I'm tempted to trade in my 'A' rated cobra but I'd rather store it and buy it outright. I don't have enough CR to do this yet but I may have enough credits later this week.

Finally got mine after the fastest 400 LY roundtrip I ever made. Salvaged some medium quality equipment from my Type 6 and sold it so I can get the shiny new discount Asp back home in one piece for outfitting. (No worries, enough money for trading and insurance left.)

I guess they had to choose between:
a) Reverting the ASPs to their original price once the discount period is over, which would result in a number of "rich" (and not only rich) CMDRs buying as many ASP's as they can afford and selling them for 5% more in 7 days.
b) Or sticking to the original price that each one of us bought a ship and base the repair bill on that for life(?).
I am thinking that to come up with a way (program-wise) to revert the repair bill to the original ASP value in 7 days and at the same time keep the sell value on the ship discounted might be too complicated.... or something that they didn't think of to start with?
I just landed at another shipyard elsewhere and the asp is not discounted elsewhere. I'd still like to know how long the discount at Nourse Orbital is available for though. I came in late on this community goal and I can't remember the details.
